Recall these dick dwarfs?

The Federal Communications Commission (FCC) has proposed its biggest-ever robocalling fine to right-wing provocateurs Jacob Wohl and Jack Burkman. The agency proposed a $5,134,500 fine to punish the duo for allegedly making unlawful robocalls to wireless phones without prior express consent from the call recipients.

From August 26 to September 14, 2020, Wohl and Burkman allegedly used a dialing service to make the calls. The prerecorded messages were delivered by a woman calling herself "Tamika Taylor of Project 1599." Project 1599 is the name of Wohl's political organization.
The calls falsely told potential voters in battleground states that voting by mail would cause their personal information to be placed into a public database. The database would then be "used by the police to track old warrants, credit card companies to collect debts and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) to track individuals for mandatory vaccines," according to the New York Attorney General's office.

It begins with an horrific tale of the migrants' suffering at sea, as they drifted in an open boat with no food or water, like an old tale of shipwrecked mariners, but has a very heartening ending.

Ted Lasso has a character that's a pedo? Oh, right...

Anyway, now I'm wondering if Star Wars was not locked to Disney+, would Apple TV refuse to show any of the movies because of all the Droids?

Abortion is now illegal in Texas, as early as six weeks in pregnancy. Most abortions happen later, which means that virtually all abortions are now illegal in Texas.

This is economically disastrous for Australia. This kind of thing is playing out all over the place, lately. Moves in other places are not quite as shocking as what's happening in Australia right now, but others are moving in this direction. This is happening like this in Australia, because this is just another step in China's long-running bid to extend their hegemony over Australia. Something really needs to be done about Xi Jinping, before things get really ugly.

There's existing laws that are enforced through a private right of action like this. We're already headed down the slope.

Gun company Remington has subpoenaed the report cards, attendance records, and disciplinary records of five kindergarten and first grade students murdered in the Sandy Hook Elementary School shooting, according to new court filings in a civil lawsuit filed against the company.

“In mid-July, the defense served a subpoena on the Newtown Public School District seeking: ‘Any and all educational records in your possession including but not limited to, application and admission paperwork, attendance records, transcripts, report cards, disciplinary records, correspondence and any and all other educational information and records pertaining to’ each of the five first-graders whose Estates are plaintiffs in this case,” according to the motion filed today that sought to protect the victims’ families from further subpoenas.
Lawsuits with companies like this never seem to come to an end. After numerous attempts (and failures) to get it dismissed, Remington - which went into bankruptcy in 2019 (though definitely not because of the lawsuit) - in July offered the families a $33 million settlement. I don't know if the families passed on it (yet), but this new twist in Remington's efforts would make me even more determined to keep turning the screws.
