Here's a bit of good news from Texas! One of my favorite old cult of the dead cow members is fighting voter disenfranchisement.

Lawsuits with companies like this never seem to come to an end. After numerous attempts (and failures) to get it dismissed, Remington - which went into bankruptcy in 2019 (though definitely not because of the lawsuit) - in July offered the families a $33 million settlement. I don't know if the families passed on it (yet), but this new twist in Remington's efforts would make me even more determined to keep turning the screws.
What an absolutely ghoulish thing for Remington to do! I would love for one of the things that come out of this lawsuit is an admission that guns do, in fact, kill people!

They'll put that into their bodies, but not the vaccine.
Ooooh, the twisted part. That people have bullets put into their bodies and it's the horse paste weirdos clogging the hospital. Tho gun mishap people and horse paste venn diagram might be a circle.

That's right, choose better sources he first time. Eta: Wildly sensational headlines from the Post can’t be relied on.

I've been reading about this kind of intervention programme, and I'll try to look it out.

Apparently quite a bit of work has been done on treating violence not as a criminal issue but as a public health issue, with inter-gang violence spreading sufficiently predictably on viral lines, as tensions rise and acts of retaliation become more common, to make targeted interventions very productive indeed.

I can quite see how giving some particular individuals a small incentive to steer clear of potentially volatile situations might be money very well spent.
