Family member had cut big slices from an onion and put those in the loaf. I love onions, and having big slices of an onion mixed with the meatloaf bits as I gnawed on them made me love onions more.

Family member had also dropped some chopped chili peppers into the loaf, so it was a little hot. Hot, but terrific. So I now have a new optional ingredient for my own meatloaf.
Sounds delicious. My meatloaf recipe includes a full onion chopped up and some cayenne. I love onions too.

Also an onion freak. For a while, I was making a rice pilaf with loads of bacon and green onions and celery (all chopped) for holiday meals. I also made cottage cheese with shredded cornbread, pinapple tidbits, sliced pears, and whatever nuts I had handy. Family loved both of them :)

ETA: nuts and raisins in both.

Mostly I'm carnivorous but wanted some more veggies today. A place around here mostly known for their meat items sells a vegetable sandwich. I don't know what all is in it but breaded eggplant, red bell pepper, cheese, spinach, who knows what else but yummy.

Insane isn't the half of it. Beside, doesn't that bit of chocolate help to keep the ice cream from melting out the bottom? And it's like a surprise treat at the end. I say we start a petition to remove this person from the internet.

At the supermarket yesterday, they were offering these thick slices of watermelon, without the rind, in plastic containers; they were labeled as "watermelon tenderloin" and I don't know why but that term is really bothering me...

Hey, when you grill them, they are often referred to as a watermelon steak or fillet. People are goofy.

Was it Super One Foods? Does that even still exist? LOL

Yeah, it would bug the crap out of me, too.

It does! There's one in Pineville at the big expressway interchange in 165.

It's also the place where, only a couple of years after I first moved here, I had to laugh when I saw the frozen fried chicken breasts because they weren't just called like "breaded chicken breast" or anything logical like that, they were called chicken-fried chicken.

Used to be one on MacArthur Dr not too far south of Hwy 28 W. I remember when it was built. Ugly green building. lol

I do miss the place but not the people or the summer heat and humidity. A winter home in Kisatchie wouldn't be bad if I could afford it. 😄

Looks like it's still there and they repainted the building. lol

Hwy 28 is Coliseum Blvd.

I've seen that in restaurants loads of times. They have chicken fried chicken and chicken fried steak.

Nowadays I see it most often called country-fried steak, interestingly. I think I like that name better.

My European grandmother just called it schnitzel. :D
