Mayo and kimchi in the blender... blitz... amazing with a good steak.
Like some kind of Korean aioli ^^

I dunno if I'd like it, but I would try it!

This year I've had loads of requests for my vodka Christmas cake recipe so once again, here goes. Please keep it in your files as I'm beginning to get tired of typing this up every year! (Made mine last night ).

1 cup sugar

Half pound butter

1 tsp baking powder

1 cup water

1 tsp salt

1 cup brown sugar

lemon juice

4 large eggs

Nuts

1 bottle vodka, large

2 cups dried fruit

4 cups self raising flour

Instructions:
Sample a cup of vodka to check quality.

Take a large bowl, check the vodka again to be sure it is of the highest quality, then repeat.

Turn on the electric mixer.

Beat one cup of butter in a large fluffy bowl. Add 1 teaspoon of sugar. Beat again

At this point, it's best to make sure the vodka is still Ok

Try another cup just in case

Turn off the mixer thingy. Break 2 eegs and add to the bowl and chuck in the cup of dried fruit.

Pick the fruit off the floor, wash it and put it in the bowl a piece at a time trying to count it. Mix on the turner.

If the fried druit getas stuck in the beaterers, just pry it loose with a drewscriver

Sample the vodka to test for tonsisticity. Next sift 2 cups of salt, or something. Check the vodka. Now shit shift the lemon juice and strain your nuts. Add one table

Add a spoon of sugar or somefink. Whatever you can find.

Greash the oven. Turn the cake tin 360 degrees and try not to fall over

Don't forget to beat off the turner. Finally, throw the bowl through the feckin window. Finish of the vodka and wipe the counter with the cat

You should put this in the recipe forum too.

With that out of the way, which one do you think would win on the food?

I've been to a few Denny's over the years, but always during trips when we needed a place to eat at 2-3am. Concerns over taste are low at those times. Believe it or not, I've never been to an IHOP.

Most times I've had breakfast food at a restaurant, it's been at local places, not chains.

I've eaten at both and it's like "yep, those are pancakes." think the main diff is IHOP has more types of stuff to pour on your pancakes that look kinda off due to people mainly going for regular syrup and the othersbnot being refreshed often. Also maybe dennys has more dinner and lunch options where as IHOP stays focused more on breakfast.

Yet again its been about 5 years since I've been to either one so I don't know.

We haven't been to an IHOP in years, so maybe things have changed there since then, but we've always preferred Denny's for having a wider variety of higher quality food, though that's really not saying much. Our favorite go-to diner is Black Bear Diner.

Have not been to either, alas. But it does beg the question: do hitmen prefer pancakes at 3 am? This requires a survey. Please discuss.

It usually around when they get up, I bet, so they probably would want a breakfast meal, rather than say linguine with clam sauce.

I concur. Just wondering what they do with the cannoli? 🤔

I'm not familiar with many of the fast food places you mention in some of these threads but just going to share that I just had a A&W teen burger and sweet potato fries right now and it was the best.

I’ve eaten in both in different states, and I found Denny’s to be more consistent about food safety.

Having said that, there was an IHOP in Beaverton I went to often, when I was still working in the area. I’d go on my day off when I needed to see a human. This IHOP was better about things that weren’t either burgers or breakfast, the pancakes were of course good.

But the bad experience I had at a different IHOP was - very bad.
