I've ranted on previous years. I won't repeat. Suffice it to say I *HATE* christmas 'music' with a burning passion that has only intensified, as each year forces more at me.

In the past week I've already turned around and marched out of 3 different establishments (a cafe, restaurant and a boutique) for playing xmas crap before Thanksgiving. I'll gladly waste my time and possibly pay more elsewhere that doesn't run a cheese grater over my nerves.

Feck the 'xmas mind virus'.

For anyone planning for a bad xmas tree display, here's a vintage collection of ideas.

The last one with the cats is the best, because I believe the cats are saying:

"We saved you from this monstrosity you put up, no....don't thank us, our satisfaction is enough."

Number eight is okay. At least it fits the surroundings fairly well. And I quite like number eleven officially.

SIRIUS was set to a Christmas only station on our way to NC. We listened to it for three hours plus. Let me tell you, there are twelve Christmas songs that every artist performs, very very slowly, on every album, I believe. The same songs over and over and over again. It was so boring.

I got to pick the station on the way home so we were all NPR up in there.

I make playlists that are like "OK GO, Pink Floyd, Bach's Little Fugue in G, Jazz-Klezmer Fusion, Chumbawamba, Wizards in Winter, World of Goo theme, Fats Waller, ...".

That's the biggest problem with Christmas music! There's actually like loads of different Christmas/holiday songs but stations seem like they're fixated on a short list and think playing different artists' versions of them counts as variety.

Unlike Argent I don't hate like ALL Christmas music, there's just several specific songs I can't stand. But even when it's a song I don't hate, I don't wanna hear it over and over again.

At least I haven't been Mariah'd this year yet.

Did you mean me? =D

I like some grimdark versions of 'god rest ye merry gentlemen', greensleeves and carol of the bells... all the rest can melt on a yule log. ;)

I play a personal arrangement of Sing We Noel that you might like as well.
