I like Christmas music, but only during the week before, and then, mostly the classics, or jazzy/big band versions while I’m cooking or wrapping gifts, getting tipsy, etc.
When I worked retail, it was always the pop or “rock and roll” versions playing.
I think it took at least 10-15 years for me to listen to x-mas music again. Too much stress was associated with it. And by stress I mean customer and employer/employee demands during the season including Boxing Day (week) afterwards.
Now, I can put up my tree, listen to some Dinah Washington, play with the cat, eat a snack, drink some wine… we’ll, you get the idea.
Waltzes also work.
