As someone who used to work in the complex what she did sounds right. What the trumpites say is off the wall.

There is a tradition of gentle ribbing when there is a staff turnover there. Not turning over desk keys, removing 'w' keys before Bush43, stuff like that. More gentle than hazing that I have heard goes on in the greek system and probably nearer to the joke of saying 'the new person buys lunch' at pretty much anyplace. Even said though, there is more camaraderie than you would expect going from one administration to the next.
