So you do understand. But of course it's not about Truth, it's about buying influence with a Presidential candidate.

Many of the early settlers in America from England came seeking religious freedom. The Pilgrims arrived in 1620 and brought with them the Geneva Bible, not the King James Bible. The KJV was seen as the Bible of the English King and the state Church of England which had been persecuting them.
I think that the language used in the KJ version is so powerful, beautiful, and simultaneously obscure (for the last 300 years) that it lends itself to religious folk who want to twist it and thus use it for many any goddamn thing they want it to mean. Particularly, to use it as a verbal cudgel for any with whom they disagree.I've always thought there's something a bit suspect about US white evangelicals' obsession with the "King James Bible," since that was the version authorised for use in Anglican churches (the "Authorised Version") and the folks on the Mayflower were trying to get away from both King James and the Church of England.

That KJ version must be the Official Version since the Book of Mormon uses the same style of language. Obviously, that's how the angels talk since Joe Smith translated it from Angelspeak.I think that the language used in the KJ version is so powerful, beautiful, and simultaneously obscure (for the last 300 years) that it lends itself to religious folk who want to twist it and thus use it for many any goddamn thing they want it to mean. I agree that the Authorised Version is one of the great works of English prose, and it's always seemed to me amazing -- miraculous, one might say-- that it was written by a committee. I don't blame anyone for wanting to use it.I think that the language used in the KJ version is so powerful, beautiful, and simultaneously obscure (for the last 300 years) that it lends itself to religious folk who want to twist it and thus use it for many any goddamn thing they want it to mean. In orangey's case it may just be that it is long out of copyright so he doesn't have to pay royalties. Any bible since 1923 or 1924(?) is controlled by copyright.I've always thought there's something a bit suspect about US white evangelicals' obsession with the "King James Bible,"

A review of the New York County Supreme Court docket on Wednesday shows that paperwork for former President Donald Trump‘s newly-secured bond of $175 million was temporarily rejected and “returned for correction.”
The cause for the rejection, according to the New York County Supreme Court website, is because the requisite paperwork lacked a current financial statement.
