I really hate how corrupt creatures like Karl Rove AKA "Turd Blossom" use this opportunity to present themselves as the voice of reason.

And even now he's not completely honest: it was Trump's deeply ingrained criminal habits that made him steal those documents - calling this a "childish impulse" is just a euphemism. A document labelled "TOP SECRET//[redacted]/[redacted]//ORCON/NOFORN" is not a "keepsake".

A lot of the charges against Trump require criminal intent. If was was stuck being his lawyer, I'd seriously try to argue my client was so damn incompetent that he couldn't possibly have had any real intentions.. Of course, there is that problematic clip of Trump kind of admitting he stole what was still classified.. I don't think any defense is good enough, his only way out is political action from his cult, because a fair reading of the law will fry him.
