As Christmas parties go, it may not be everyone’s idea of a good time: there are barely-touched canapes, hotel-buffet-style containers of hot food, and about 25 political activists, all crammed into a brightly lit basement in the middle of a pandemic.

But that is the scene captured by a photo taken at Conservative campaign headquarters (CCHQ) last December, which emerged on Tuesday to create another political nightmare for Boris Johnson.

He says one word wrong and he's "senile".
But TFG's word salad, Revolutionary War airports, and even contemplating the idea of injecting bleach are just fine and dandy?
Not to mention the octogenarian red state senators who say any number of bizarre things.
And they probably call it omnicron, too (if they admit it exists).

Donald Trump has divulged details of a cognitive test he "aced" -- including a five-word memory challenge he said proved he had the "mental stamina" to lead the U.S.

"Person. Woman. Man Camera. TV," the U.S. president recited as he revealed details of the much-discussed test to Fox TV on Wednesday.

"The last questions are much more difficult," he said in an interview on "Tucker Carlson Tonight," in which he repeatedly questioned the mental capacity of his Democratic rival Joe Biden.

"Like a memory question. It's like, you'll go: Person. Woman. Man. Camera. TV," the president said. "So they say, 'Could you repeat that?' So I said, 'Yeah. It's: Person. Woman. Man. Camera. TV.'"

"Then, ten minutes, 15, 20 minutes later they say, 'Remember that first question... Give us that again."

"And you go: 'Person. Woman. Man. Camera. TV.'"

"And they say 'that's amazing. How did you do that?'"

"I do it because I have, like, a good memory," Trump continued. "Because I'm cognitively there."

It's spreading here at a terrifying rate, with infections doubling every two days at the moment, and that's expected to rise before it starts to fall off.

If anyone isn't double vaxxed and boosted, now's the time to remedy that, because two shots on their own aren't offering much protection. The booster brings it back to what it should be.

Our royal family once again did not comply with the corona rules. Last year they went on on holiday to Greece when traveling was strongly not advised.
Our former queen princes Beatrix came back with a Covid infection from an official visit to one of our tropical islands within our kingdom, where she clearly not stayed at distance all the time and now this:

We can only hope a few things:
- that the vaccinations (with booster) hold against Omicron,
- that most people are smart enough to stick to the basic rules at all times, no matter what is theoretically allowed
- that Omicron is indeed milder than the Delta mutation (like the first findings in South Africa indicate)
- that the newly approved pills are rolled out quickly and show to be effective against Omicron
Otherwise proper healthcare could collapse in several paces in Europe pretty soon.
