I live in DC. We did not even get to vote in the presidential election until the 50s. Since that time it has been the bluest electoral vote in the country in every election so the only campaign adds we see are on the news or aimed at a nearby state (ie, neither party bothers to contest it). Since that time it has been the bluest electoral vote in the country in every election so the only campaign adds we see are on the news or aimed at a nearby state (ie, neither party bothers to contest it). In 2016 HRC got 90+ percent of the vote here.

1. We didn't get to vote in the presidential election until the sixties (statehood in 58)
2. The entire west coast tends to get written off. Hell, they called the election for Reagan before the polls even closed in California in 1980. By the time the polls close in Alaska and Hawaii it's all over but the shouting.
3. Speaking of preordained ...no matter who votes for whom, Alaska is a red state. It always has been, it always will be. TBH I usually end up wondering why I even bother (bother voting for anything other that state issues and state offices, that is).

Warren said she supports Sen. Bernie Sanders’s proposal for a Medicare-for-all plan. She cited her past as an academic who studied why Americans go broke, saying medical costs were a major cause of bankruptcies, even in families with insurance.

“Medicare-for-all solves that problem,” she said. “And I understand, there are a lot of politicians who say, ‘Oh, it’s not possible.’…What they’re really telling you is, they just won’t fight for it. Well, health care is a basic human right. And I will fight for basic human rights.”

That said, I still don't think I can vote for Biden even in the general; I still think he's more dangerous because people are more likely to cooperate with him than with twitler, on both sides of the aisle.

His issues are being too moderate and status quo, not putting the entire world in danger. Another four years of Trump and you won't even get to vote for your preferred candidate next time - because next time won't be happening.

I'm not saying that Biden is the ideal candidate. What I am saying is that if it comes down to him vs. Trump, or /anyone/ versus Trump - there is literally no reason not to get out and vote for the other option, unless you're interested in living in an authoritarian regime going forward.

Not the least bit equivocal.

Too bad she could not have said that months ago. When everyone was saying what they supported she seemed wishy washy on the matter. That became the first impression people got about her stance on the subject. Unfortunately that tends to be a problem with academics, they want to give a long drawn out sentence with clauses, subclauses, and conditions when a simple 'yes' or 'no' would be 10000000 times better.
