Actually? I find anti-depressants harmful for me - maybe not my depression, but being unable to feel anything, including happy, and being unable to create is its own hell. But I'm not going to form my opinion of her on a single tweet. Also, authors are just as intelligent [or not] as anyone else, or is it 'celebrity' that makes someone suddenly unfit. I mean, in a way, all politicians are 'celebrity' or else they wouldn't really stand a chance in the elections.
I can’t do antidepressants either.

I see them as just one tool in a toolbox. It makes sense to me that no one treatment is good for everyone and I really wish doctors were not the pill dispensing automatons they’ve become. And then there are people helped by meds who can’t get them. Science has just gone out the window.

Did you catch Klepper last night on comedy central? He was talking to some vets with PTSD who said all the VA could give them were drugs and different things worked for different people. Most of the show was about a wrestling show made up of vets.

I didn’t see it. But I believe the part about different things working for different people.

Thanks on the info about Castro.

Right...about her being a successful celebrity author. Big NO. YUGE NO. FUCK NO. Everybody and their uncle thinks they are fit to be President these days.
Well, in all fairness, our *current* president is a successful celebrity author. He may be a total fuck-up in the real estate business, but he sold a lot of books. So it is no wonder another author thinks she's qualified. But based on our current experience, I'd say no to celebrity authors.

Trump isn't an author, he didn't write that book - he had a ghost writer.

Calling him an author is like calling him a pool boy because he hires people to clean his pools for him.

I would be surprised if he even read through "Art of the Deal".

Calling him an author isn't fair at all.

In fact, the last President who was also an actual author was Obama, and he clearly was a better politician for it.

Trump and Bush II on the other hand are at least borderline dyslexic.

Make of that what you will.

It’s not the dyslexia, which a smart person might have. It’s the complete lack of intellectual curiosity which means they were really educated only on paper.

They made good figureheads for a party that wants voters to be proud of their illiteracy while low profile, smart insiders wield the actual power in the party.

This is why I thought of the Bush presidency as Cheney and the Trump presidency as McConnell.

Go Pete!

Especially since there are plenty of images like:

Mad is like SNL. They take on whoever is in power and/or in the news. Someone like donnie is a goldmine to satirists.

Not related - plenty of people are Dyslexic, including myself. John Lennon was severely dyslexic, and except for the whole natural-born American citizen part, he'd have been better than either, though probably not a terribly -good- president, either.

Yup... though Twitler's is more something you do to a Ritz's presidency.

Go Pete!

And just like that, Mayor Pete ratcheted up another few points on my Respect-o-Meter. Being able to take on Trump's juvenile barbs without sinking to his level or getting distracted from the issue at hand is an extremely vital skill to have this coming campaign season. I would love to see a debate between Buttigieg and Trump. Pete will absolutely smoke Trump!

Donnie started out as a goldmine to satirists but he's so outrageous now that I think it's getting hard to satirize him.
