People forget that it was Biden pushing and getting out ahead of Obama on gay marriage that brought it about when it happened.

Yeah - Obama was slow on a lot of things and downright awful on other things - but he also made a lot of change and did things that made the country a better place to be. I guess I just see him as being just as old, and not promising much so won’t get any thing ‘more’ done than Sanders. I do see many abstaining from voting for DEMs if Sanders wins, but I also see there will Some not voting for them if it’s Biden. I can’t imagine many think Sanders will be able to change a whole lot if it’s him, but at least we know what he is aiming for, no? Apart from saying he isn’t for “revolutions”, what is Biden proposing?

It’s easy to keep promises when you don’t make many. Although, I might just not be aware of what he stands for. Apart from maybe punching trump, what is his vision for the next four years? I think I’ll have to go inform myself/listen more before continuing.. and let you all speak among yourselves.

Far earlier. He made a gay pride day while Mayor of Burlington in 1983, and I'm sure his actual support pre-dates that. ETA: yep, 1972. Bernie Sanders was decades ahead of the country on gay rights and ending the war on drugs

Taken by the headline (though I still think the North Koreans' "dotard" is a better insult), I took a look at the article and discovered that I apparently shouldn't trust a word The Daily Beast says because its "corporate owner IAC has Chelsea Clinton on its board of directors" and that it published "an article titled “Kremlin Media Still Like Bernie, ’Cause They Love Trump” which aggressively smears Sanders as a tool of the Kremlin".

I'm not sure it says he's "a tool of the Kremlin" anywhere; rather, it says that commentators on Russia Today and Russian domestic TV channels (nominally independent but state-controlled in effect) keep promoting him as the most likely Democratic candidate -- I don't watch Russian domestic TV but I assume the Beast isn't making that up -- and that

While the Russians may well discover that they have completely misunderstood Sanders and that, in office, President Sanders proves their implacable opponent, all The Daily Beast is doing, it seems to me, is reporting on what Russian politicians and political commentators are doing now and on what they did 4 years ago.

Is there any reason to suppose Putin's preferences about US presidential candidates have changed since 2016 and he no longer wants to see a contest between Trump and Sanders, from which he hopes Trump will emerge the winner? Or should we, as Trump and the Republicans would like us to, dismiss Mueller's report as biased and unreliable?

Normally I wouldn't waste my time reading so obviously a partisan article, let alone checking its sources, but I thought we try here to quote from reliable news media when we can, and this piece seems to provide a good example why that's a good idea.

I'm not expressing any view on Bernie Sanders here, but I would suggest that his supporters are doing neither him nor themselves any favours when they quote such utter tripe in his support.

If somehow Biden gets the nomination and actually picks a republican as a running mate [unless its Romney - he sort of earned a modicum of respect], then there is no way in hell I'll vote for Biden, he can join Bloomberg.

Until the GOP becomes a sane party again, I -will- not vote for them. I'd rather just not vote on that individual race.
