When Biden wins the Democratic Primary, I hope commits to Medicare4all as the country is ravaged from the aftermath of the pandemic. I hope he commits to immediately ending our wars and using our bloated military budget to saving lives at home. I hope he values small business.I hope he relieves our young people of their student debt burden and makes a commitment to the future students of America that education should be the key to their freedom and not the shackles on their feet. I hope he doesn't murder any leaders of other countries and topple their governments to the point of inducing slave trade. I hope he initiates a UBI program. I hope he listens more to the working people of this country and less to the CIA. I hope he fights for fair elections and paper ballots and doesn't reduce himself down to taking big corporate donations and dark money. I hope he strengthens our Social Security Program. I hope he uses that last remaining years of his life to find his heart and conscience and care about the survival of all living things after he's gone. I hope he aspires to greatness in the eyes of the common man instead of corporations.
I just hope he can stop this ship from sinking and can undo at least some of the damage Trump and the GOP have done, so that we can continue to have hope of forward movement once again.

I just hope he's not Trump . Oh wait, he isn't.
I hope for more. I need more. I don't know the situation of a lot of people here. Maybe they're secure in retirement or have some sort of employment that allows them a safe nest. If the Democrats don't get this next election right, if they don't aim higher than a notch above Trump, there's a big portion of this country that's going to go down to a place no living American has experienced. Who knows if we're going to make it to the next election. The Democrats have fumbled the ball during this pandemic. Maybe they haven't been as bad as Republicans, but to a person who gets no help, it really doesn't matter who wanted to help the least.

That's your analysis, but it doesn't seem to be shared by the Democratic Party.
Obviously not. Joe Biden has now gone and had the nerve to blame Charlamagne for his saying the quiet part out loud. He refuses to take responsibility, but why would he? He lied about the NAACP endorsing him right there in the same interview, why would anyone expect this agent of institutional racism to accept responsibility for his role? Biden showed his arrogant entitlement and can't handle a fair question about what his plans are to improve the material lives of the most reliable voting block. He's ridiculous, and the only way he wins is because Trump is even worse.

I certainly don't expect the Karens of the party loyalists to demand better, they just demand that people roll over and give up their vote for nothing.

Do you not realize that we are already on a trajectory toward something far worse than we've ever known? Does the twenty percent unemployment not tell you? Do the people demonstrating in the streets not tell you? Does the video of the President of the United States urging violent or racist actions nearly daily not tell you? Does the plan to pull out of all the nuclear treaties not tell you? Does the new cold war against China not tell you? Does defunding the WHO in the middle of a pandemic not tell you? Does the man going golfing on the day that the 100,000th person died from his mismanagement not tell you?

Shit. I didn't even get to the babies in cages. Yeah. We all want more. But, we have to vote to save the world so it can even have a hope of getting better.

1. The House has been passing relief that the Senate sits on. The Democrats have not fumbled the ball in this pandemic, they’ve been blocked from getting their legislation through because the GOP controls the White House and the Senate. It’s unfathomable how much certain people’s hatred of Dems always relies on pretending Republicans haven’t been sabotaging everything constantly for the last decade.

2. Biden admitted he spoke out of his lane. Pointing out he was baited by Charlemagne doesn’t negate his aceepting of responsibility. It’s just recognizing reality. A reality he's far from the only one to point out.

3. Biden has regularly had good ratings from NAACP and been endorsed by many leaders within the organization as individuals. Obviously the NAACP doesn’t officially endorse any politicians and the audience he was talking to would have know that so it‘s silly to pretend he was trying to deliberately deceive anyone. Saying “I’ve been endorsed by X” doesn't have any significant benefit over “I’ve been endorsed by countless leaders within X and regularly gotten positive legislative ratings from X.” It was supposed to be a more casual interview. There’s nothing sinister about this kind of minor misspeak. Trying to even make this out to be a thing betrays just how disingenuous the criticism is determined to be.

This is what happens when you inform yourself from only propaganda and outrage porn sources. You lose any sense of reality and proportion. I don’t even understand why you people are here constantly trying to push this shit. They have reddit forums where you can masturbate this propaganda nonsense.

Surprisingly, a major theme of Russian fascism is that liberal democracy and the rule of law are simply myths, since the whole system is hopelessly corrupt and impotent, and is incapable of solving people's problems and protecting them from what they fear, so people should forget about all hope of meaningful social change at the ballot box, and leave it powerful leaders to look after their interests for them, and keep them safe from sinister external forces.

In its way, it's the incel approach to politics -- because you're frustrated you can't achieve the sort of social change you want, it follows social change is impossible because the system is rigged against you, so best to accept defeat and never try, and accept that the show will always be run by chads like Putin and Trump.

Hey, Trumpchump. You're a fucking moron and a ruthless bore. Also, we're all on to the fact you're a de facto Trump supporter.

Just wanted to let you know.

Love,
Casey

My God. Look at yourself.
Sorry, but on the basis of what you've been posting here, you're coming over as either completely disingenuous or a blithering idiot (I suspect the former, since you appear to be able to write coherent sentences and use a computer).

Probably our fault not yours, but maybe you might consider finding a less hostile audience for your wisdom, since it's going sorely unappreciated here?

I think I'm probably more the idiot.

Good news for the forum. My 11 weeks of Montgomery Co. MD quarantine ends tomorrow and my new life begins in my business that I've owned for 20 years. There will be no employees and I've lost my business partner to a really bad management job at Dollar General to keep a roof over our heads as I begin my solo effort of repaying nearly 30 thousand dollars of quarantine business debt. I've been denied PPP. I've been left in limbo for my approved EIDL. I've been left in limbo for PHEG and the county won't be accepting applications for the Cares Act CDBG-CV for another two weeks. I've received 2 weeks of UI.

I never counted on Trump or Mitch McConnell to help me, but I'll be damned if I'm going to be grateful to Nancy Pelosi, Joe Biden, Bernie Sanders, AOC, or the Big Blue State of Maryland for allowing this to be my story as they threw any leverage they had to the wind when we needed a fight.

Do not call. I know I'm not welcome here where everything will be just fine when Trump is gone and Democrats have their majority, just like the 50% of our most powerful governing body... The Congress. You'll get your wish. I'm not sure why anyone is still here. I'm still left questioning, with 50% of the law-making power, we still end up with 0% of universal health care and UBI and rent /mortgage freezes and 100% percent of bailout of the upper class?

Yes, I'm the problem. I'm definitely both an idiot and completely disingenuous.

While I am saddened to hear about your financial and business problems, I read today that

Trump is also awol in the worst economic crisis since the Great Depression.

More than 41 million Americans are jobless. In the coming weeks temporary eviction moratoriums are set to end in half of the states. One-fifth of Americans missed rent payments this month. Extra unemployment benefits are set to expire at the end of July.

What is Trump’s response? Like Herbert Hoover, who in 1930 said “the worst is behind us” as thousands starved, Trump says the economy will improve and does nothing about the growing hardship. The Democratic-led House passed a $3tn relief package on 15 May. Mitch McConnell has recessed the Senate without taking action and Trump calls the bill dead on arrival.

What about other pressing issues a real president would be addressing? The House has passed nearly 400 bills this term, including measures to reduce climate change, enhance election security, require background checks on gun sales, reauthorize the Violence Against Women Act and reform campaign finance. All are languishing in McConnell’s inbox. Trump doesn’t seem to be aware of any of them.

There is nothing inherently wrong with golfing, watching television and tweeting. But if that’s pretty much all that a president does when the nation is engulfed in crises, he is not a president.

So it's unclear to me what you expect Joe Biden, Nancy Pelosi, Bernie Sanders or anyone else to do that might to begin to remedy your situation before the end of January next year, and which you say they're refusing to do.

Seems to me that Mitch McConnell and Donald Trump are the people to whom you should address your more immediate concerns.

Focusing on defeating the GOP so we can have rational debates about practical legislation isn’t part of the propaganda they’ve embraced. You might as well be trying to sell ice to snowmen.
