I promised everyone id bring sticky buns for Christmas morning and I can't find any anywhere. I've been to all the bakeries, hipster/bio, traditional, even a gluten- free bakery. It's just not a thing here in this part of the island. Many didn't even know the term, I had to explain... 😭
Just get cinnamon rolls and toss some crushed pecans on them. I DOUBT ANYONE WILL KNOW THE DIFFERENCE

On the plus side, I discovered a bunch of amazing bakeries. Everyone was nice, trying to help me find another place where I could find some. In one, a customer from the North of Belgium took out his phone to show me a place. He was very handsome and had a cute accent. If this sounds like the start of a romcom, his girlfriend was standing next to him and I ended up NOT FINDING ANY STICKY BUNS.

There used to be a Cinnabon (sp?) downtown but it closed. I know they're in Ontario, but not sure if in your parts? Anyhow, I have a sad. Brioches are not the same.
There's a chain near here called Cinnzeo, there used to be some Cinnabons, tho. Is that the Quebec term, 'sticky bun'? I know them as cinnamon buns.

Looks like you're going to Ottawa. :/

Hot cross bun - Wikipedia <--- these are not as exquisite as a cinnamon bun, but they might be found in any supermarket.

I'd just go with the stickiest brioches you can find, tho.

Yes, one person said "You mean like in Chinatown?" NO! Ha ha

We also called them cinnamon buns at home when we were young (I was born in the more Anglo side of the city). Anyways, I know I could go there but too far/not enough time/too lazy. We're leaving for chalet in a day \o/

After all the holiday family brouhaha and cleaning up the place I'm finally sitting down, alone, it's finally quiet, and I'm having coffee and speculuus (speculoos?) which I now call Sid biscuits because I can never remember what they're called. ☺
