This is a weird one. This happened in housing called the mods at Evergreen State College in Olympia WA. The main housing for the college is a high rise, the dorms. The mods is another small group of housing there with each house being a duplex with three people on each side. I lived there in the '80s. For all I know this happened in my building. There are only around a dozen or so of the buildings in the complex as I recall.

Motorists in rural France have recently been astonished to see thousands of road signs at entrances to towns and villages turned upside-down.

The name-bearing roadside plaques have been unscrewed, flipped, then meticulously screwed back on.

It's a campaign by farmers to draw attention to what they say is their increasingly precarious way of life.

Starting with a protest in the southern Tarn department in November, it has now spread all over the country.

The trombone undertone really sells, "well done" to whoever made this.

If I didn't know any better, i'd feel a bit bad about all this. Politicians are out there in the public so much that it is inevitable they pick up a litany of "Dean Screams" and other embarassing moments just because they are caught "being human". But this is well deserved.

I also started with a moka pot, but moved on since then.

I still have a Bialetti Brikka, but the Wacaco Nanopresso produces much better results by comparison and is more mobile.

When I'm at home, I can just use my Rancilio Silvia E.

I should sometime post a photo of the various coffee making gadgets that I have accumulated over time.

Pls do! I may respond with some of my moka pot graveyard. Family give me pots they can't figure out or break. I have spare parts sufficient for rest of my life (& the next, should there be one).

Pope approves blessings for same-sex couples if they don’t resemble marriage

Pope Francis has formally approved allowing priests to bless same-sex couples, with a new document explaining a radical change in Vatican policy by insisting that people seeking God’s love and mercy shouldn’t be subject to “an exhaustive moral analysis” to receive it.

The document from the Vatican’s doctrine office, released Monday, elaborates on a letter Francis sent to two conservative cardinals that was published in October. In that preliminary response, Francis suggested such blessings could be offered under some circumstances if they didn’t confuse the ritual with the sacrament of marriage.

The new document repeats that condition and elaborates on it, reaffirming that marriage is a lifelong sacrament between a man and a woman. And it stresses that blessings in question must be non-liturgical in nature and should not be conferred at the same time as a civil union, using set rituals or even with the clothing and gestures that belong in a wedding.
