That "Biden far from fit" meme is Republican bullshit repeated by lazy media that don't check their fucking facts. Watch a Biden speech end-to-end, not selective clips, and remember that he has had a stutter his entire life. Now watch a Trump speech remembering hew is a stable genius.
It is not the way he talks, it is the way he acts. It is not the lazy media. Don't blame the messengers and look the other way.
Joe Biden's age is becoming a problem. This is a very senior citizen who should not do 4 more years. He is physically far over the hill. There is nothing wrong with an 80 year old being 80 years. But there is with an 80 years old in physical bad shape running for president again IMHO.

This is likely Biden's near future:

These guys were once competent politicians, but they are simply getting physically to old for such jobs.

And Trump being a total disaster doesn't add a grain to Biden's fitness and stamina. There must be more competent persons in the Democratic party than only a feeble Biden.

I have followed American politics for the better part of 50 years. I have seen Biden as a Senator and Vice President. He is more fit today than Trump was when he was first elected. So no, I call bullshit.

I can only tell here, what I see from a distance. And what I see unfolding in both major parties when it comes to the next elections, worries me a lot.
We seem to disagree over the situation of the Democrats. I hope I'm wrong, for the benefit of the whole world.

- Biden far from fit for a next term. But still wants to run for office. And the Democrats let him.

- Trump the political idiot and a fraud as he always has been. Will become the Republican candidate no matter what.

Congratulations USA. You maneuvered yourself in a great political shape.
What a mess. If the orange one wins the elections, it will be the end of democracy for the USA this time.
Biden is doing quite well for an octogenarian, don't let the American media convince you otherwise. And he is still the right person to lead us through these challenging times.

Trump is going to get the Republican nod, that much is a given. But he doesn't have the votes to win the election, despite what the obviously-skewed polls have to say. As long as we stay vigilant and turn out for the vote, we'll be fine.

Trump’s pitch for autoworker votes in car heartland is short on autoworkers

The gathering had all the festive, and sometimes chaotically surreal, energy that is often part of Trump rallies. Supporters banged on drums, breaking to yell “Freedom!” and drawing loud cheers from up and down the street. Many were draped in Trump 2024 flags. Another flag showed Trump as a Rambo-like figure holding a grenade launcher. Passing traffic blared their horns in support.

Inside the event, Trump gave a rambling speech for more than an hour. Union workers should support him because electric cars would take their jobs, said Trump. China and other foreign powers were the real enemy, not low wages or incompetent bosses. “Your current negotiations don’t mean as much as you think,” said Trump.

By Trump standards, the crowd was small but there was no doubting their enthusiasm and they did not seem to mind the twisting word salad of the speech as it touched on trans rights, the Taliban, grudges against Hillary Clinton and Trump’s current 2024 Republican opponents.
Typical of the Lawn Care mentality for this bunch - he's trying to rally autoworkers and holds his rally in a non-union shop. Derp.

I love that a lot of the crowd were holding up - professionally produced and printed, not markers at a kitchen table on construction paper - signs saying "UNION MEMBERS FOR TRUMP," "AUTO WORKERS FOR TRUMP."

When local reporters stopped and asked a few of these people if they were union members or auto workers, they said they weren't.

Just par for the course for a Trump audience.

Trump devoted a sizable portion of his hour-plus onstage to blasting Biden’s promotion of a transition to electric cars. “The damn things don’t go far enough and they’re too expensive,” Trump alleged of the vehicles, before soon getting confused and insisting these cars are “selling for peanuts.” He bashed the car companies that make them as “either stupid or gutless,” and wildly claimed that electric cars are “much worse” for the environment. Trump even attempted to stoke panic about electric boats asking: “Do you get electrocuted if the boat sinks?”

Do not drive electric cars through a puddle!

His lackeys have all tried that and all failed. You know - he's all about winning 'n' stuff
Maybe, but he is also all about delaying court things and staying out of jail. Idk, seems odd.

I do kind of question the long term economics of electric vehicles. Yeah, you save on gas costs, but they are expensive and replacing the batteries is expensive and the used market seems like it may be nore prone to dodgyness, especially in the batteries.

Electric vehicles are definitely the way to go and the way to the future. They just make more sense a bit in the potential future of "no one owns cars and its essentially all fleet owned ride share style ala cart car use."

From 2035 onwards, the sale of new petrol and diesel cars will be banned in the EU and the UK.
