LOL, I'm not talking about Word, or anything else in Office, much as M$ likes to think they're indispensable.
I'm taking about my DAW software. And moving to a whole fully -featured one of those can be as expensive as getting a new computer.

Well as long as they do their job sufficiently...
The Space Shuttles flew all their lives partly on 1970-ish junk too.

Thank heaven they weren't tied to Vista...

They were actually IBM-360s (five of them) in a small enough form factor to fit in the crew cabin. At the time, Mission Control was all IBM-based, so it was easier to maintain the computers with the experience people already had. IBM also built the "instrument unit" (the brains) of the Saturn V. It was all pre-integrated circuits, so it was a bit larger:

They were ackchyually System/4 Pi, which were modified S/360s of a sort, but not just shrunk down to make them fit into an avionics computer format.

Windows 11 has been officially released. Because my current computer hardware doesn't meet the minimum requirements, even though they weren't strictly enforced for the betas, I was not an Insider for 11 the way I was for 10; so I have no deep insight to offer about the new features or known problems. Aside from the standing complaint about TPM being required, and the usual griping that comes with UI and design language restyles, there don't seem to be any major complaints about this OS that I've heard about, in terms of stability or security. If your computer is capable of running it, upgrading should be fine.

As for me, I'm going to have to wait to get it until I'm able to upgrade my system. In my case I'd actually need a new CPU because mine is pre-Ryzen and unsupported, and of course a new CPU would mean a new MB and RAM all at the same time, which is a big expense so I'm putting it off for the near future.

I would need a new motherboard, CPU, RAM, and copy of Windows. So my next system will run Win 11. I know there are workarounds, but the consensus is they will cut off Windows Update, so that's a no.

The last genuine improvement in any version of Windows was in XP SP2, when they finally got Bluetooth worked out.

Hah well, that's a minor improvement in my book. I use bluetooth headphones sometimes but wired headphones are ok.

I don't see the need to upgrade to Windows 11 at the moment.
Every software that I use works and does its job. So no need to change anything.
I'm only 4 years on Windows 10 now, because I bought a new PC back then.

Now when they will have android apps running in Windows 11 (next year expected) that could be the moment when I switch to 11 (If my PC has the right specs that is).

Jesus Christ, the perfect advertising campaign is staring Microsoft in the fucking face. Instead we get...
They should have just done the Spinal Tap.bit, word for word, but replacing Amp with Windows, using Bill Gates and Seinfeld eating Churros.

Oh wow, there was a second one of these that I had not seen.

If I wanted to I could go to 11. But I don't want to at this stage, there's simply nothing new that I must have now and I'd rather bugs be squished by someone else.
What I want to know is if the speaker volume widget goes to 11. :p

But I'm in no rush. My relatively new PC runs fine on W10, and I see no new features to make me jump to a new version. At some point I'll try out 11 on one of my older PCs once it has been out long enough to find the inevitable bugs and squash the serious ones.
