Might decorate a bit differently, but I like it, yes it is very nice.

My eye's drawn towards the ceilings, or more precisely the lack there of. Not my style preference.

Not saying people would prefer this to permanent, secure housing, but still, I found it interesting.

It's a nice idea, but unfortunately only solves part of the problem. More and more cities, particularly here in California, are clamping down on homeless encampments, even going so far as to make it illegal to camp on public or private property. There's literally nowhere somebody could park one of those things.

It's frustrating since not enough Americans want to actually take meaningful action on the problem and give people housing and a place to put it.... The vast majority of the electorate just wants to pretend the problem will go away on it's own.

The MAGA crowd thinks this is the solution, but continually show they aren't considering the utterly massive costs involved. And the logistics! The vast staging areas that would be required, i.e. temporary housing to be erected for this to be accomplished. But it's a simplistic, nationalist catch phrase to shout.

Exactly! Nobody cares one hoot about the homeless unless they're in their backyards, then their response is to force them to relocate somewhere else, where they become someone else's "problem."

Or how much of our agricultural system depends on migrant labor. Not to mention hospitality and home repair/remodeling.

Look, I’m not greedy. I don’t want a mansion or even a big house, don’t need a car, have no wish for bling bling or any overly ornate stuff, I just want a fridge that I don’t have to squat down like I’m harvesting rice every time I want something on the bottom shelf. My knees are not what they used to be.

Why are fridges even vertical.

They do make French door refrigerators that have the freezer below the refrigerator, that resembles a chest that slides out. Those are very nice. I wish I had one.

I’m all for downsizing and tiny houses, but no thanx.

Sleep on it: the $700 San Francisco ‘pod’ with privacy curtains and charging ports-The Guardian

A company that rents “sleeping pods” in downtown San Francisco for $700 a month has had 300 people apply for its remaining 17 beds, the company’s CEO said.

Brownstone Shared Housing describes its mission as “providing low cost housing in the most expensive cities”. Its bunkbed-style “pods” measure approximately 3.5ft-by-4ft-by-6.5ft, large enough to fit a twin mattress. The pods come with privacy curtains, inside lighting and charging ports.
