The original dock, so you must mean this: [NeXTstep]
I had one of those, a NeXTstation slab, but I had to give it away because Mrs Argent wouldn't let me keep all my old computers. The guy I gave them to ended up getting me a new job a few years later when the startup I was working for failed to start up.

In practice the menu-on-the-side thing Jobs had them use to avoid stepping on Apple's toes was annoying AF. But the NeXT Dock was really nice. And it's the same code base in OS X, that's why so many of the Objective C methods start with "ns".

My computer is from 2016, it doesn't pass the test, and yet it runs W11 just fine. 🤷‍♀️
I am pretty sure it's a TPM thing, but my desktop computer is from 2021, and it does not pass the Windows 11 test. It's a monster too. I think like top 5% on 3D Mark's deal.

Something recent probably just has TPM turned off in the BIOS.

I know that's what it is with mine. And the last time I ran the Windows 11 check it even said as much.
I figure as long as I leave TPM off, it won't nag me.

I wanted to turn tpm off but this laptop doesn't have that option in the bios.

The more I read the less desire to ever run W11, and will wait for W12.
I don't have any confidence in that being better, lol.
I just had a look and the guy that made my DAW is still making them with Windows 10. That tells me something.
When he switches to Windows 11, I'll think about it.

One thing I still haven't gotten used to on Windows 10, after all these years, is clilckbait on my lock screen. You get a nice picture, and then, instead of some text saying what it is, you get text saying, "Like what you see?" and, "This place was used on the set of Aardvarks in space in 1967... can you guess where it is?" and crap like that to click on to get more information. It's so obnoxious, and no, microsoft, I'm never, ever clicking that bullshit, because I object to clickbait on my goddamn lock screen. That's the screen I need to get past to do work, and putting clickbait on it makes it harder to do work.

I know they probably won't fix this in Windows 11, but if they did, that would go a long way towards me seriously considering upgrading, instead of changing to linux, when the time comes.

Yikes. Windows 10 doesn't do that.
One less reason to "upgrade".

Thank you! I didn't know they literally called it lock screen ads. I thought they would obfuscate their purpose by calling them 'points of interest' or something, LOL

I could have sworn I did something like this before, but it changed back with an update at some point. Maybe not. If I did, maybe this time it will stick.

I've been using EarthPorn subreddit as my lockscreen for years so had to google it myself to see.

I'm still happy with Windows 10.
I'll see what will be installed when I buy another PC, moneywise hopefully later than sooner.

Are you running the Home or Pro version?
Mine's never done that.
My PC came fully tweaked,so IDK if anything else was done to keep it that way. Pro does have me control over updates, that's why I sprang for the extra $.

So, I have windows 10 on my desktop, and 11 on my laptop - so far, I see no real differences outside of... a much cleaner looking interface/'app' bar
