No, I'm not posting on the wrong forum. The Honorable Mention segment highlights a man in Minneapolis who saved the 10 dogs who were left abandoned in empty apartments in his complex after ICE disappeared their owners. He brought them to a shelter to be cared for... then he self-deported.

I call fake. I work in Downtown Minneapolis. Those aren't our street markings, and there is obvious ice and snow all over, you just can't hide it. But it is funny as hell!
Thanks. It doesn't seem to be found anywhere but social media sites, so you must be right. I should have checked before posting It. Still, it is funny, as you say.

Let's make this happen!

Progressive outlet The Nation nominating city of Minneapolis for Nobel Peace Prize
Progressive outlet The Nation is nominating the city of Minneapolis for the Nobel Peace Prize in the wake of tensions over President Trump’s immigration agenda in the city.

In a Wednesday piece, The Nation’s editors stated that they “are in the process of formally nominating the city of Minneapolis and its people for” this year’s prize. The piece also includes a nomination statement addressed to the Norwegian Nobel Committee set to be sent Friday.

“Through countless acts of courage and solidarity, the people of Minneapolis have challenged the culture of fear, hate, and brutality that has gripped the United States and too many other countries. Their nonviolent resistance has captured the imagination of the nation and the world. Renee Good’s widow has said, ‘They have guns; we have whistles,’” the statement reads.

Their story was sketchy from the beginning. They beat the hell out of him and lie, lie, lie. These and their executions are the actions of an unaccountable paramilitary force. Show your faces, stop the brutality and charge your murderers or get the hell out of Minnesota, and America itself for that matter.

At least one ICE officer told caregivers that Castañeda Mondragón “got his (expletive) rocked” after his Jan. 8 arrest near a St. Paul shopping center, the court filings and a hospital staff member said.
HCMC (Hennepin County Medical Center) is the downtown Mpls hospital and Hennepin Healthcare is one of two organizations that ICE is retaliating against with audits. Article about that below, long because of access token.

Look at them pointing guns at witnesses. The one on the right thinks he is in a gangster movie based on how he is unprofessionally holding his weapon.
Tom Homan is not a kinder, gentler machine gun hand and was never intended to be. Arrest the fucking murderers and get this untrained Gestapo the fuck out of here.

ETA: The video and story to go with the previous posted image. FFS. They act like cartels. This woman was only saved because her husband knows the Police Chief.

After the woman was detained, her husband said he called his attorney. Shortly after, he received a call from St. Peter Chief of Police Matt Grochow, whom he has known for years.“I was talking to him, kind of venting some of my frustrations,” the husband told MPR, before encouraging the chief to make sure local officers were more visible during ICE operations. “If [local police] were present and they could see you, I promise you their behavior more than likely, or hopefully, would, you know, be appropriate and law-abiding,” he said. After the officers put her in their car and drove toward the Twin Cities, they themselves received a call, the woman said, and quickly turned back. “ICE returned the female to our police department, I saw her, and I gave her a ride home,” Grochow wrote in a statement to MPR about the incident.

Farm to Taber is one of the best YouTube political commentators that I listen to regularly, so much so that I've actually joined her Patreon. Here she connects the dots on how agricultural policies have led to ICE raids, and how even North Carolina Dem voters have contributed to this problem. They will vote Dem for all candidates except for the Secretary of Agriculture because they have bought into the branding of GOP candidates being more knowledgeable about agriculture.

Farmers no longer oppose ICE raids on their undocumented labor because documented labor is cheaper and easier to control (oppress). Undocumented labor can simply leave if working conditions are too abusive; documented H-2a (temporary agricultural visa) workers are tied to the employer who arranged the visa, so if they quit, they have to leave the country and return to Mexico.

Because the H-2a process is cumbersome, a form of temp worker agency has developed over the past decade. One company makes all the arrangements for bringing in the workers, then hires them out to whoever needs the labor. These bureaucratic layers make exploitation easier, including contacts in Mexico who will retaliate against family members if the workers "misbehave" when they're stateside.

The executioners have been identified:

Note from the Editors at ProPublica:

ProPublica is publishing the names of the two federal immigration agents involved in the fatal shooting of Minnesota protester Alex Pretti. We believe there are few investigations that deserve more sunlight and public scrutiny than this one, in which two masked agents fired 10 shots at Pretti as he lay on the ground after being pepper-sprayed.

The Department of Justice said it is investigating the incident, but the names of the two agents have been withheld from Congress and from state and local law enforcement.

The policy of shielding officers' identities, particularly after a public shooting, is a stark departure from standard law enforcement protocols, according to lawmakers, state attorneys general and former federal officials. Such secrecy, in our view, deprives the public of the most fundamental tool for accountability.
