I bet Tucker isn't that stupid, but he knows his fans are, so he's catering to it. Some of his leaked messages suggest he kind of hates himself for the audience he must pander to, lol.
Yeah, I was referring to the people who believe the crap he spews. Though pandering to it should be criminal as well.
I'm honestly curious about what was going through both their heads... I think Putin was thinking he could go on his rants and Tucker would just nod along like "Oh yes, brilliant wisdom, sir!" and everyone would love it.
Tucker didn't really challenge Putin very deeply because if he had done that, he might not have left the country. Tucker knows this, but of course is too cowardly to just say it.

He certainly agrees with Putin on many horrible things.... But he did keep trying to steer Putin to actually answering his questions. Carlson is many things, but he's not totally deranged. He seemed to be aware that Putin's incoherent answers weren't going to help either of them.
When looking at the interview, one thing is quite clear: Putin got the questions a long time upfront, and had enough time to consider his answers upfront, because you never really see him struggle or taking some time to think about them.
As far as I am aware, there was no peace deal a year and a half ago. Moscow made a sham offer to negotiate but the position of Ukraine, then as now, was for a full Russian withdrawal.
