LOL, no. He's gasping for air because seconds before that closeup he had to haul his old, obese body up the Portico stairs, that's all.

He's fine. He's gonna be fine.
I dunno... I saw the full clip of him standing at the top of the stairs. He's wobbling and unsteady and looks like he's only just barely holding it together. For a while it looked like he was confused, and then he looked like he was on the verge of tears.

And then there's that record amount orange goop on his face that looked like it was swimming around as the top layer of a sweat casserole.

If I infected others and I knew it could leak that I -knew- or suspected I was contagious earlier... I'd probably be sweating bullets and unsteady on my feet too, even without covid-19.

If we had a senate with any balls, they'd subpoena him for the time and date of his most recent negative covid-19 test. Which, who knows, was probably last Saturday.

It is stated here before:
Being ill isn't in his book. That is like being a looser to him.
So he is acting being healthy no matter what.

There is no guarantee that the doctors have dismissed him out of hospital. 45 Might have forced a leave.
We will know more at the end of next week.
I personally don't think he is as far out of the woods as he believes.

As far as I am concerned he is responsible for the severity of this disease in our country directly due to his actions (refusing aid to blue states and poor folks because hey they don't matter, downplaying it, saying it was a hoax, etc...) so from that he is responsible for at least a number of folks having died. And now, he sends out the most irresponsible tweet ever. Don't fear Covid, he says. Yeah, 210,000 people would vehemently disagree were they still here with us.

Assuming that he *may* get more ill in the coming days, how many people is he going to infect in the meanwhile? I cannot help but think of all the people who had no human contact except for their doctors but of course quarantine rules don't apply to him. No rules ever apply to him. He bullies, he manipulates and he gets what he wants.

The virus can't be bullied, laught or swindled away.
Trump is bluffing at the moment that he is doing great IMHO. He looks not okay to me.
In the upcoming week we will know more.

And yes, Trump acting like Trump about the virus was to be expected. But IMHO he can't fool people who experienced severe illness and even casualties in their families or friend lists.
They are done with him for a long time already or reach that point now.
Trump's base of MAGA-adepts can't be saved, because of their lack of capacities to think and judge by themselves.

We have tons of Covid deniers over here as well, and they are no MAGA's, but simply to stupid, stubborn or influenced by others to understand.
They would be MEGA's though, if Trump was president of Europe. Trump is not the real cause of their stupid actions, but he explores them IMHO.

My theory is that, the Colonists, having been told that the Native peoples were English citizens as well, had a fit and complained about taxes.... then again, the founding fathers were all rich people - who to this day complain about paying their taxes >.<.
Just the opposite. Great Britain had treaties with the tribes in the Ohio Valley and recognized their territory. The French and Indian War had started over trade conflicts with Canadian and British among the Miami people. The Ohio Valley tribes participated on both sides of the conflict and their rights were recognized in the peace treaty.

The colonists were slipping past the British forts meant to protect the Native American lands and clearing the forests for farmland. They were expelled if they were caught.

The issue of taxes arose because the Colonies were not contributing to the debt payments for the French and Indian War and the cost of defense of North America (which was being used to keep the Colonists away from the Ohio Valley as well as the Catholic population of Florida and Canada, both annexed by Britain after the war). Colonial governments made voluntary payments that were well below what was needed. So Britian used direct taxation (the Intolerable Acts and the Stamp Act) in the colonies along with merchantilist polices to try to raise funds. The more heavy-handed they became, the more rebellious the colonies were.

Even after the American Revolution, and in direct violation of the treaty ending the war, British troops remained in the Ohio Valley until the end of the War of 1812.

It's the calm before the storm. I'm thinking the worst of the disease is yet to come. He's currently so doped up right now that he's feeling positively invincible. I'm betting he'll be rushed to the ICU within a week.
Sure it will come back. It is just a question of exactly when and what happens.

:qft:

Mary Trump had some interesting insights into the Trump families perspective. Fred Trump apparently took The Power of Positive Thinking to the extreme, so his children were expected to radiate health and optimism under all circumstances, no exceptions. As a result being ill simply isn't an acceptable option for Donald.

At a critical stage of a serious disease, he's not focused on getting better, he's focused on appearing normal. That may not kill him, but at some point he's going to slam against a reality he can't wave away and it's gonna hurt.

Yes, I am constantly being irritated by liberal friends who think he is not sick. They simply do not understand there is absolutely no upside for him (aside from lying about covid, but he was already doing that) and it does not fit with his self image.

Ah, something related to contact tracing. Now if they could contact trace all of his contacts, etc.

I heard a story on NPR yesterday about how "researchers" had requested a list of everyone at the Rose Garden event. They were supplied a list of email addresses, no names which was not all that helpful. Don't know exactly who some attendees were. For that matter, from this story don't know exactly who these researchers are either.

Here's someone complaining about the lack of contact tracing, maybe more like active refusal to do it: "your administration is refusing to do contact tracing".

Sorry to be one of your irritating liberal friends. My suspicions are not rooted in any sort of coherent conspiracy theory, but simply in what I consider a fundamental truth: If a member of the Trump administration said it, it is bullshit.

You make an excellent point about his self image, but I wonder if "Perils! Dangers! Heroic rapid recovery by heroic leader WINNER who sneers at loser disease!" doesn't fit well with his delusions of grandeur? It also plays into the theme of this administration since about February; "Nothing to see here, folks! Everything's completely normal. Just go on about your business!"

So what's the theory on the other Covid-19 cases in the White House/Rose Garden event cluster? Are they part of the conspiracy?

Trump's Dex will wear off soon. I fully expect him to be rushed back to Walter Reed by Friday. Watching that video of him gasping...that's not exertion from climbing stairs. I had a friend who was 5 foot nothing and weighed 300 lbs, and she didn't even gasp like that when she had to climb the stairs. That man is gravely ill, and on too much of a Dex high to think clearly.
