The network should refuse the ad....
there is a limited number of slots but imagine the the money they get..

NBC Charges a minimum 6.5 million per 30 seconds in 2022... good or bad publicity.... that single ad can generate a ridiculous about in ad revenue why would they refuse?

In 2021, CBS sought around $5.5 million for a 30-second spot in Super Bowl LV, declaring sell out in late January. The event generated around $484.7 million in ad revenue from 42 minutes of advertising, according to Kantar, a tracker of ad spending.

Imagine what the channel host get...

Money is the root of all evil...

Saw something on Twitter about a purported "Million Nurse March" being planned.
What an insult to the vast majority of nurses who have been going through hell, when getting assaulted, trying to save people's lives and fight the virus.
If this is true, it makes me both incredibly sad and incredibly angry. Code of Ethics for our profession vies against this type of conduct, imho. People are entitled to their personal opinions and rights, but my belief is that should not be used under the banner of a health care profession. This is my personal opinion only, ymmv.

The nurses I know personally would absolutely agree with you.
People like that love to believe they represent "all Americans" when what they mean is all Americans like them.

Meanwhile, in Congress :

I guess it's very much like here where the (antivax) protestors claim they are speaking for the majority, or that they are the silent majority, when they are just the vocal minority.

I find myself wonderring if they are really nurses, or another 'Freedom Convoy' situation. I mean, I just don't see Canadians flying a N. Virginia battle flag, yanno? And Canadians seem to be skeptical too, if the Canadian group I follow on FB is any indication.

The judge dismissed Palin 's libel suit, though he's letting the jury finish deliberations to cover his ass in case it's overturned on appeal. There is no evidence that there was any malice in the NYT's mistake, which is part of the requirement to prove libel (in sure Innula could put this better, lol).
If Hillary chooses to sue Fox, however, I'd say she has a slam dunk case.

Indeed. I also found myself just wondering (because I haven't seen the original twitter post) if said March may be a counter-protest type to refute anti-science anti-mask anti-vaccine conspiracy theorists. After all the suffering witnessed and cared for by health professionals, plus the backlash so many have received, that would be less surprising.

National Nurses March

Our goal and focus:
PEACEFUL lifting of our collective nurse voice in an effort to be heard on the subjects of
Nurse to patient ratios
Fair and realistic wages for nurses; including standing against any proposed cap to nursing pay.
Racism against healthcare workers
Violence against healthcare workers
What we are NOT:
A strike
A riot
A protest
A platform for vaccines mandates or the abolition there of
National Nurses March does not facilitate, sponsor, or encourage a working strike. If individuals so choose to go on strike of their own accord that is their right. It is not a goal of National Nurses March. National Nurses March
does not weigh in on vaccine mandates one way or the other. That is an issue of individual importance. It is not part of the mission of National Nurses March.
National Nurses March is not a protest and does not encourage protest movements. If individuals choose to protest in their own places of work or living that is their right. It is not a goal or focus of National Nurses March.
National Nurse March in no way supports or encourages any form of rioting on any subject whatsoever.

Whenever they cite that "99.7% survival rate" so smugly, I hope they find out for themselves that survival =/= recovery every time.
I suppose it's mean of me, but there it is.
They themselves, I mean, not their innocent kin, co-workers, etc.

That number is wrong anyway. The US death rate is 1.2% of COVID cases. Its higher for older people.
