I agree with Molly here. I wish I could TP her into the past like that first segment of The Twilight Zone movie.

And the longer quote is even worse. She has some damn nerve presuming to speak for any Jewish person, rational or otherwise. Or any rational person, Jewish or otherwise.

As I understand it, Marjorie Taylor Greene enjoys the solid support of Trump's MAGA fans and, at the last election and defeated her Democratic opponent by a margin of 75:25, so I fear she's going to be around for a while yet.

ETA: Actually, now I come to think of it, the reason she enjoyed so great a margin was that her opponent dropped out very early on because of harassment from her campaign and her supporters, but his name remained on the ballot. But nevertheless it's a solid Republican district, I think, so her fate is more in the hands of the local registered Republicans than in those of the local electorate.

Greene is from a rural/Appalachian part of Georgia. Biden won by even higher percentages in metropolitan counties.

Technically, iirc, she's from Alpharetta - not exactly rural.

And her district not only included the northwest corner which is rural/appalachian, but comes right down toward Metro Atlanta.... Dallas, Hiram, Carrollton aren't exactly rural, even if they aren't quite metropolitan either; makes me sad - they weren't so crazy/stupid when they -were-.

She has previously made comments on social media supporting the QAnon conspiracy movement, suggesting mass shootings were staged by gun control activists and proposing a Jewish cabal started a deadly California wildfire with a laser beam directed from outer space.
If MTG had said that to me my first reaction would be to laugh in her face. She might be stupid gullible enough to believe the kind of bullshit that comes out of her mouth but the rest of the world isn't. One thing about the Repugs, they never can admit that there are and will always be people that are more intelligent than they are.

I can't speak for anyone else but out here in rural America I was given a card, not a "logo". MTG obviously never bothered to look up the definition of "logo".

The card fits in my wallet and does have the CDC logo on it but no where does it say I must pin it to my clothing and wear it visibly 24/7.

I would have to question my intelligence if I knew the political party I supportted had prominant members throwing wild emotionally laden accusations against the wall just to see which ones I would actually believe.

Now if only that would apply to the other side as well...

One minor disagreement.

Nevertheless, however well Democrats do in other parts of the state, would I be correct in thinking that, unless she loses the support of the local registered Republicans, her re-election isn't in much doubt?
Absent a scandal or indictment which forces her to resign, yes, she is likely to be re-elected. She might be "primaried" by another Republican, but that area is so conservative that no Democrat has a chance so far.

One wild card is redistricting. The 2020 Census didn't change how many Representatives Georgia gets (14). But the district boundaries will be redrawn to account for population changes. The Atlanta metro area grew by about 700,000 people over the last decade, while Georgia as a whole grew by about 1 million. Since Atlanta accounts for 70% of the growth, areas outside the metro area will have to take some of its territory in order to get equal population in each district. Atlanta leans more Democratic, so it could shift the balance in the more rural districts and make them more competitive.
