Seems that 35,000,000,000,000 isn't enough for the Donald.
Let's add 3,300,000,000,000 more.

So the Big Bunch of Bullshit bill narrowly passed the House and is on its way to Trump's desk.

Both of my adult sons rely on Medicaid. If either one of them loses their health coverage, I am going to go completely Mama Bear on Rep. Vince Fong, who voted Yes on this shit!

My oldest daughter does as well. Now I wonder how long that will last. It basically covers everything too.

They truly have no shame. Not one iota of it in their body.

Republican Rep. Derrick Van Orden of Wisconsin wrote a letter urging his state’s Democratic governor to take steps to protect rural hospitals from the fallout of Republicans’ widely reviled budget bill — which Van Orden voted for.

Van Orden’s urgent letter, which was dated Wednesday ahead of the bill’s Thursday passage, added to the list of Republicans who have effectively acknowledged the legitimacy of widespread fears that Republicans’ Trump-backed budget will harm some of the most vulnerable Americans — even as many Republicans have suggested it won’t.

They knowingly fucked over their constituents. And I'm sure they are already figuring out how to blame democrats or local politics whenever possible. Private companies also are likely to take the fall... not that I'm that sympathetic to the companies but it isn't their fault either. This is the direct result of Federal actions.

So apparently a lot of the worst stuff does not start until 2027, so if the Demoxrats somehow sweep midterms, they are an easy blame.

Also, I bet many don't realize its delayed, so now all the drones will be screeching that "See no one lost their heathcare, the liberals are just TDS!!!"

Yes, The fact that the way things are NOW is not necessarily the result of who is in power RIGHT NOW is deeply confusing to a lot of people and this gets exploited a lot by conservatives. It gets worse with most people having such short attention spans. The most important (but wrong) proTrump argument in the last election was that things were so good in 2016-2019. Then Biden was blamed for not being able to fix shit fast enough.

Other non-USians may be interested to read this piece, in The Economist, on America’s unwritten constitution (Evernote Link).

I'd never realised it works quite that way -- completely unlike the UK and (I would imagine) most other parliamentary systems. Over here, the government has just suffered a major defeat because its own MPs rebelled over a controversial (to say the least) measure to cut disability benefits. That's a major headache for the government, and they'll have to revise their plans on tax and spending (results to be announced later in the year) but it doesn't affect the progress of any other legislation.

(I'd dispute, btw, the proposition that the UK doesn't have a written constitution -- we do, but the various parts of it are written down in different acts of parliament, legal and parliamentary precedents, official handbooks on parliamentary procedure and so on, rather than in one document).
