Well China is still pissed as hell about Japan for the time in the 20th century, when Japan fought war against them and occupied them. The same goes for South Korea with Japan when they had their own Japanese occupation.

So Japan, Korea and China willingly working together means that you've fucked up big time. Trump can be proud about himself!

More communism from Trump: he signed an executive order aimed at scalpers, denouncing them for using “bots and other unfair means to acquire large quantities of face-value tickets” and reselling them at “an enormous markup on the secondary market, price-gouging consumers.” So probably most people can agree with that one for a change.

Kid Rock stand beside Trump, while he was signing the order, telling the audience: "Anyone who’s bought a concert ticket in the last decade, maybe 20 years, no matter what your politics are, knows it’s a conundrum. You buy a ticket for $100, by the time you check out it’s $170… But more importantly, these bots — they come in and get all the good tickets to your favorite shows you want to go to. Then they’re re-listed immediately for sometimes a 500 percent markup. The artists don’t see any of that money. I would love down the road if there’d be some legislation to actually put a cap on the resale tickets."

And Kid Rock looks strangely similar to President Camacho.

It is as if Liam and Noel Gallagher joined Ray and Dave Davies in a big, giggly group hug.

I guess it was Charles de Gaulle who said, "Nations have no friends; only interests."

DOGE Is Trying to Gift Itself a $500 Million Building, Court Filings Show (archive.today)
The DOGE-affiliated acting president of the United States Institute of Peace, a Congressionally funded, independent think tank, has moved to transfer the agency’s $500 million headquarters building to the General Services Administration free of charge, according to court documents revealed in a recently filed lawsuit.

Tensions at USIP have been escalating for weeks, starting when the Trump administration fired the agency’s 10 voting board members on March 14 and USIP staffers denied DOGE representatives access at the front door. Three days later, DOGE employees made their way into the building, reportedly using a physical key from a former security contractor. The dramatic confrontations culminated in a full takeover, with former State Department official Kenneth Jackson assuming the role of president. As of this past Friday, most USIP staffers have received termination notices.
Former USIP officials have since filed a lawsuit against Jackson, DOGE, Donald Trump, and other members of the Trump administration, seeking an immediate intervention “to stop Defendants from completing the unlawful dismantling of the Institute,” according to the complaint.

I don't understand why Trump hate the Free Market™ so much.

So, those people deported to a prison in El-Salvador without any due process? Well turns out that even the Trump administration is now admitting that one of them was a mistake. And.... they can't get them back. And the courts have no rights to demand that they should bring them back anyhow because Trump can deport anyone to anywhere at any time just because he says so.

An ‘Administrative Error’ Sends a Maryland Father to a Salvadoran Prison

But in Monday’s court filing, attorneys for the government admitted that the Salvadoran man, Kilmar Abrego Garcia, had been deported accidentally. “Although ICE was aware of his protection from removal to El Salvador, Abrego Garcia was removed to El Salvador because of an administrative error,” the government told the court. Trump lawyers said the court has no ability to bring Abrego Garcia back now that he is in Salvadoran custody.

Simon Sandoval-Moshenberg, Abrego Garcia’s attorney, said he’s never seen a case in which the government knowingly deported someone who had already received protected legal status from an immigration judge. He is asking the court to order the Trump administration to ask for Abrego Garcia’s return and, if necessary, to withhold payment to the Salvadoran government, which says it’s charging the United States $6 million a year to jail U.S. deportees.

Trump-administration attorneys told the court to dismiss the request on multiple grounds, including that Trump’s “primacy in foreign affairs” outweighs the interests of Abrego Garcia and his family.
So that's nice.

Time for another crackpot 'shower thoughts' conspiracy theory by yours truly.

Some time back I was convinced that Putin was smart enough to realize the inevitable death toll of attempting a conventional invasion of Ukraine, and that not only was he okay with it, but it was likely part of his motivation. What better way to get rid of a surplus of idle, likely gang-affiliated young restless men, then to send them off to war. Great way to consolidate property, deal with 'problem elements' in society. Those shrewd enough to survive will likely only do so by being loyal enough to their command that they get safer deployments than those who are more insubordinate.

Now Tyranno-sore-ass Wreck wants to do the same. Deporting 10% of the citizens least likely to be fawningly loyal to his flagrant abuse of power. Marching the next 10% off to die taking over Canada, Greenland.

All the while economically withdrawing the U.S. from the rest of the world. Which, once the financial separation is complete enough, he'll be free to open hostilities and expand southwards all the way to Panama and likely beyond, with no sanctions or embargos from anywhere else to deter the U.S. from doing so.

Likewise, eliminating any financial motive to come to Europe's aid as Putin starts using the threat of cutting off fuel in the winter or glassing them with nukes. The U.S. won't care because we've already alienated them and, with MAGA-spin, will likely blame the EU for our economic hardship, so half the voters will be on board with letting the EU get fucked by Putin.

I've no doubt that highly compensated sociopathic 'analysts' at the Heritage Foundation have already mapped out this game plan, and, having learned from their failure to seize the spoils of war during Desert Storm, they're now out to make sure that the international community no longer has any teeth or leverage with which to stop our abuse of power and menacing use of our military.

The mistake they'll make, like Rome is that now that we've abdicated our position as an economic super power on this planet, we won't be able to keep funding our military strength. Which is fueling the scramble to cut as many services and programs as possible across all levels of the federal government. "Justice For All" is an expense that this country isn't willing to pay for anymore. I expect the appeals process is going to grind to a standstill. Anything the administration wants will pass through but without pressure from the administration all other appeals will just pile up, ignored.

The oligarchs want to thin the herd, starting with those least useful to them first, and they'll roll over anyone that gets in their way.

Evernote Link to FT article

Not an endorsement I'd have expected to see in the Financial Times:

The lesson for the US Democratic party establishment is clear. They might regard politicians such as Bernie Sanders and Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez as on the far left of American politics. But if they emerge as the most charismatic leaders of the opposition to Trump, they should be embraced and pushed forward — not rejected.

3 prominent Yale professors are leaving or have already left for Canada: they are philosophy professor Jason Stanley, and history professors Timothy Snyder and Marci Shore.

Snyder and Shore specialize in Eastern European history and have drawn parallels between the fascist regimes they've studied and Trump. Stanley has published books on fascism and propaganda, including "How Fascism Works."

I disagree, Putin has not a surplus of idle, restless men. About why Russia went to war in Ukraine I always feel this talk named "The Russian Grab" by Peter Zeihan enlightening. The talk is from 2014 (!) and he back then told if Russia wants to something with its military the last year to start is in 2022 due to big decline in demographics after that.
