So I made myself a hamburger tonight, and followed a recipe (you know, mix in egg , bit of milk, cracker crumbs, Worcestershire sauce, etc) and it was really good, except for all the clean up after the 5 minutes of eating. I think next time I’ll forgo all that, and just mix in some spices and such.

Anyway, as the title says, Hamburger Thread.

Recipes? Favourite condiments? Secret ingredient? Vegan recipes? Takeout preference… it’s all good. GIFs, too.

Also, bread. I used an ordinary cheapo Kaiser which I toasted to long, unopened and it was a tad dry. Suggestions? Maybe I should have sliced and buttered it.

1. Pull two White Castle cheeseburgers out of the freezer
2. Wrap in paper towel, place on paper plate, microwave for 2 minutes
3. Carefully pry apart each burger, insert slice of tomato
4. Garnish plate with spear of dill pickle
5. Savor each bite!

I go to In-N-Out or The Habit for my burgers. Much less prep and clean-up.

If you don't have either of those nearby, then an alternative is to have hubby make and grill the burgers.

That's meatloaf. Hamburger is it's own recipe.

I add grated yellow onions, like they do in Swedish meatballs, keeps 'em nice & moist.

Yes! It was like meatloaf. Not as good when you’re craving a burger. The recipe was like “The Best Burger” but it didn’t have the taste of charred meat I was looking for.

I have a conference coming up in June in Portland and one of the things I am looking forward to is going to Burgerville.

I miss burgers, haven't been able to eat them for quite a while.

Steak n Shake with ketchup, mustard, pickles and onion, or the Garlic double, or the Bacon double, or the Frisco melt. All are good, but there isn't one in town. The first one in Normal shut down in the 90's, very retro feel to that one and it was my favorite. IIRC it used to be open 24hrs in the old days.

Dairy Queen, regular double or bacon double with cheese, ketchup, mustard, pickles and onion. And they have Onion Rings!

Still have the jones for a McDonalds Big Mac now and then, though the Dairy Queen burgers are better burgers. Their fries tend to be too salty.

Culvers burgers are too buttery, if they cut back on that, they'd be better. But Culvers has evil custard and not ice cream.

Sonic's burgers are decent, and they got tater tots for when you're in a tot mood.

At home? Boca patties, microwaved, 1 minute...flip, 20 seconds more. Put on bun bottom add condiments and cheese, put bun on top, microwave for about 20-30 seconds more.

Back when I used real beef when my real beef eating Dad was alive, my preference was for 80 percent lean hamburger not that pink 70 percent crap, or sometimes ground chuck or even better and more rarely, ground round. Dad would moan a bit when I sometimes splurged on the good stuff for him, saying the 80 hamburger was good enough. I told him he deserved the good stuff now and then.

I don’t know any of those except DQ, but no DQ hamburgers in Quebec.

There’s an A&W just two streets from here. Teen burgers are always a treat. I’ve been told the A&Ws here aren’t the same as in the US.

One thing I absolutely have to have in a burger are pickles.

Well, and cheese, of course. I prefer no ketchup.

IMO Burgerville is overrated. They cost way more than chains like Wendys and are definitely better but if you want to pay even more there are better burgers out there.
