He also misunderstands, or pretends he does, how rape trials work, in that the jury are asked, not "do you think the complainant is lying?" but "do you think the defendant might possibly be telling the truth?" The test is not "do you think he's guilty?" but "are you completely sure he is?"
While obviously I don't know what happens in the jury room, certainly of all the rape trials in which I've been involved that have ended in an acquittal, I've very rarely gone away thinking "he was clearly innocent and she was lying," and far more usually thought "I'm pretty sure he's guilty but I can see why the jury wouldn't be comfortable convicting him."
That's why complainants in cases of rape (or any other form of assault) that ends in an acquittal are so rarely prosecuted for perjury or for perverting the course of justice -- there's generally no reason to believe they're guilty of anything.
But I don't think facts, whether about the law or the Bible, matter much to someone like Pastor Webbon. He's far more interested in exercising power and control over women, and getting paid to enable men to excuse their own coercive behaviour.
