Somebody might want to remind that "pastor" that the Bible had a New Testament, and he should familiarize himself with the first four books.
I must have been dreaming when the Sunday school teacher taught us that the 10 Commandments are listed in the Old Testament and one of them is "Thou shalt not kill."

He also misunderstands, or pretends he does, how rape trials work, in that the jury are asked, not "do you think the complainant is lying?" but "do you think the defendant might possibly be telling the truth?" The test is not "do you think he's guilty?" but "are you completely sure he is?"

While obviously I don't know what happens in the jury room, certainly of all the rape trials in which I've been involved that have ended in an acquittal, I've very rarely gone away thinking "he was clearly innocent and she was lying," and far more usually thought "I'm pretty sure he's guilty but I can see why the jury wouldn't be comfortable convicting him."

That's why complainants in cases of rape (or any other form of assault) that ends in an acquittal are so rarely prosecuted for perjury or for perverting the course of justice -- there's generally no reason to believe they're guilty of anything.

But I don't think facts, whether about the law or the Bible, matter much to someone like Pastor Webbon. He's far more interested in exercising power and control over women, and getting paid to enable men to excuse their own coercive behaviour.

This is presumably the sort of thing Elmer means when he describes Britain as a police state

A father-of-four who threatened to burn down every mosque in Newcastle has been jailed for 20 months.

James Apsin, 34, was drunk when he posted the TikTok video shortly after the killing of three girls in Southport in August.

Aspin, of Blyth in Northumberland, admitted distributing a recording intending to stir up racial hatred.

He's become a regular here over the past several months. He enjoys recommending killing people who do stuff he doesn't like. We'll continue to hear from him until the typical scandal for his type crops up.

By his logic...

If a rape victim can't adequately prove the crime happened, they should just bypass the judicial system entirely and just go murder EXECUTE the rapist themselves.

Made our way back to the 1950's, so far.

'Segregated facilities' are no longer explicitly banned in federal contracts
After a recent change by the Trump administration, the federal government no longer explicitly prohibits contractors from having segregated restaurants, waiting rooms and drinking fountains.

The segregation clause is one of several identified in a public memo issued by the General Services Administration last month, affecting all civil federal agencies. The memo explains that it is making changes prompted by President Trump's executive order on diversity, equity and inclusion, which repealed an executive order signed by President Lyndon B. Johnson in 1965 regarding federal contractors and nondiscrimination. The memo also addresses Trump's executive order on gender identity.
While there are still state and federal laws that outlaw segregation and discrimination that companies need to comply with, legal experts say this change to contracts across the federal government is significant.

More of those "mistakes." If we never had DEI, we never would have had any mistakes in the first place. :hellokitty:

The Pentagon said Wednesday that in "rare cases" it may have deliberately or mistakenly removed some webpages in efforts to remove diversity, equity and inclusion content after a tribute to Jackie Robinson's Army service was suddenly scrubbed from a Department of Defense's website.

A DOD official told ABC News that the Robinson webpage, among other content recently removed from Pentagon websites, was "mistakenly removed" due to the search terms used to scrub DEI terms from platforms.

EDIT: Here's a post on DailyKos about a number of these "mistakes."

National Park Service removes references to Harriet Tubman from ‘Underground Railroad’ webpage
An image of and quote from Harriet Tubman have been removed from a National Parks webpage about the “Underground Railroad,” following several prominent changes to government websites under the Trump administration.
The National Parks Service webpage for the “Underground Railroad” used to lead with a quote from Tubman, the railroad’s most famous “conductor”, a comparison on the Wayback Machine between the webpage on January 21 and March 19 shows. Both the quote and an image of Tubman have since been removed, along with several references to “enslaved” people and the Fugitive Slave Act of 1850.

The Washington Post first reported on the changes. The webpage now leads with commemorative stamps of various civil rights leaders with text including the phrase “Black/White Cooperation.” Whereas previously, the article started with a description of enslaved peoples’ efforts to free themselves and the organization of the Underground Railroad after the Fugitive Slave Act, the article now starts with two paragraphs that emphasize the “American ideals of liberty and freedom” and do not specifically mention slavery.
Tubman’s removal from the “Underground Railroad” page “is both offensive and absurd,” Fergus Bordewich, a historian and the author of a book about the Underground Railroad, told CNN Sunday. He described the new webpage as “diminished in value by its brevity.”

“To oversimplify history is to distort it,” Bordewich went on. “Americans are not infants: they can handle complex and challenging historical narratives. They do not need to be protected from the truth.”
