Terrible that he's been caught up in it, and stupid people for confusing the actor with the advert.

I'm interested in knowing who at Peloton and their media agency thought up the idea, approved the concept and so on, and how the finished product came to be released, and what happens to them as a result of their catastrophic misjudgments.

Honestly, doing that sort of damage to your share price and company's image is pretty impressive. Even I would be hard pressed to do that sort of harm to my employers by accident.

In August, they stated they were not going to give flu shots to detainees:

But this week, U.S. Customs and Border Protection said it would not give flu shots to the thousands of migrants now in its detention centers.

"Due to the short-term nature of CBP holding and the complexities of operating vaccination programs," the agency said in a statement, "neither CBP nor its medical contractors administer vaccinations to those in our custody."

Dr. Bruce Y. Lee of the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health called the department's edict, "short-term thinking."

"Holding a number of unvaccinated people in a crowded space could be like maintaining an amusement park for flu viruses," he wrote for Forbes. He explains that viruses could spread through the congested, often cold, and unsanitary detention camps, and get passed between those people who've been detained — weak, tired and dusty — as well as those who work there.

Doctors offer to give free flu shots to detained migrants, warn Trump admin. of epidemic

In a Nov. 5 letter, the doctors pleaded with the administration to reconsider its decision to not vaccinate detained migrants for flu despite the deaths of at least three children in CBP custody during the 2018 flu season.


The doctors, members of a recently formed group Doctors for Camp Closure, D4CC, have offered to stage a mobile flu vaccine at no cost to the government at the San Ysidro, California, Customs and Border Protection processing and detention facility.

“We implore you to allow our volunteer physicians to hold our requested influenza vaccine clinic,” the physicians stated in the letter.

Customs and Border Protection, part of Homeland Security, did not accept the offer.

Maybe they think it will discourage people from coming, but mainly the cruelty is the point. They want these people to suffer and they don't care if they die, because "it serves them right for coming illegally" (not knowing or caring about the real ways of seeking asylum).
And maybe they don't care about the people who work for them either, because not vaccinating or caring for sick migrants piss everyone there at risk).

ETA yes, the first 'people' originally came out 'poodle', thanks to my iPad gremlins.

Not denying it; but I did want the sentence to make sense.

It is a profound disregard of life from those who claim that all life is sacred, and yes, the cruelty is the point. Potus wanted electrified fences with spikes, alligator moats and for them to be shot in the leg. Then there is Stephen Miller (largely the architect of the immigration policy) in whom I don't think it is much of a stretch to say that he bears all the traits of a potential perpetrator of genocide.

This is outrageous. I realize the robbers were armed and might have even started the shootout, but there had to be a better way to react than hiding behind cars with innocent people in them while shooting back. One of those car occupants was killed, and it's impossible to know whether they were shot by robbers shooting at police hiding behind the car they were in, or they were shot by police on the other side of the truck since police had surrounded the truck and were shooting at it from all sides.

Absolutely a gross disregard for public safety. Imagine driving down the road when the police decide to use your vehicle as a shield while you sit in said vehicle with no protection whatsoever. They all should be fired. In addition, don't UPS trucks have GPS on them? I bet they do. They could have tracked it.

Bragging that no LEO's were killed in the face of two dead civilians represents how much more they care for their own safety than that of the public.

Yeah, same here. Bucket seats in the front with the width of the middle console if someone wanted to try and dive from front to back, it would be tricky no matter their size and a wide open windshield. I suppose a quick dive out the door might work, but that would be in the general vicinity of officers firing weapons.
