Uuf...

A South Carolina woman found herself on fire after rolling a Pontiac G6 during short a police chase. The hoard of gasoline in back exploded, setting both the car and its driver alight.

On May 13, a Pickens County, South Carolina, Sheriff’s Office deputy attempted to pull over a 2007 Pontiac G6 after noticing the plates mounted on the car were apparently stolen, reports the Pickens County Sheriff’s Office. The driver, a 28-year-old South Carolina woman, hit the gas instead. She lost control and flipped the car before the officer could even make the radio call.

Because people who want to pwn the libtards vote for legislators who propose this kind of thing, so there's good money in being known to favour it, same as bathroom bills, stop the steal, abortion and same-sex marriage, that's why.

Trump's presidency demonstrated how lucrative pwning all the libtards can be, and many Republican legislators and would-be legislators have learned from his example.

The US Constitution provides the right to keep and bear arms, but most states have passed laws to regulate them. So this law is needed to undo a previous Texas law in order to unregulate hand guns, or to override local city ordinances, which are quite common. For example, many cities prohibit weapons within a certain distance from schools for the general public (with an exception for police officers).

In the US, we make a distinction between hand guns and "long guns". The latter require two hands to operate, and are too big to hide in a pocket or holster. So long guns are easier to detect.

Yeah, I think the tweeter knows that too. Three question is, why do they want to be that unregulated? No background check, no waiting period, not even a license. Nostalgic for the Wild West, are they?

Nostalgic for the "Wild West" that never existed. Guns were regulated and few people carried them on a regular basis outside of professional need. There were range wars, robbers, and other sporadic instances of lawlessness, but that was the exception, not the rule.

Hollywood invented the lawless West where good guys with guns were the only thing stopping general violence and murder, and too many gun nuts believe that fantasy and see themselves as the cowboys.

In most towns, if you came into town with a gun, you were expected to leave it with the local Sheriff/Marshal/Constable and then pick it up when you left town. Openly carrying a weapon made people assume you were trouble. That's one of things that lead to the famous shootout at the OK Corral...besides the frictions between former Confederates and former Yankees, townies (yankees with money) vs rural folks (mostly confederates), ranchers vs rustlers (mostly confederates).

Did I mention how the Civil War affected migration into the west and partly led to our current troubles?

I've been reading Heather Cox Richardson's How The South Won The Civil War, which has a lot to say about this, as has Greg Grandin: The End of the Myth

This gave me the mental image of into a western town rides a Second Life griefer avatar. And now I'm equating open carry weirdos as griefer avatars with distorted features purely to upset others.

A high school in Florida has sparked outrage after it was discovered that at least 80 female students had their photos digitally edited in the yearbook to hide their chests and shoulders.

The New York Times reports that students at Bartram Trail High School in St. Johns County were in disbelief after opening up the latest yearbook and finding the bizarre “Photoshopping” on photos of themselves.

Riley O’Keefe, a 15-year-old ninth grader at the school, found that a straight black bar had been overlaid on her clothing to cover slightly more of her chest. Many other photos of girls in the yearbook found similarly clumsy changes to their portraits.

It's an apt comparison, except IRL you can't make your parcel no damage. Wouldn't it be great if there was a gadget you could deploy that would jam all guns within a certain radius?
