NOOOOOOO

Cherry Hill Police responded to the hotel for the report of a sex offense. As a result of the investigation, the police department charged Gary Busey, 78, of Malibu, California, with two counts of fourth-degree criminal sexual contact, one count of criminal attempt/criminal sexual contact and one count of harassment.

A law firm representing Monster Mania told CNN in a statement on Saturday evening, "Our client, Monster-Mania LLC, is assisting authorities in their investigation into an alleged incident involving attendees and a celebrity guest at its convention in Cherry Hill, New Jersey last weekend. Immediately upon receiving a complaint from the attendee, the celebrity guest was removed from the convention and instructed not to return. Monster-Mania also encouraged the attendees to contact the police to file a report."
Gary is frequently perceived of as insane to SOME degree or another; but no matter what anyone says, I've always remained convinced that it was a willful act on his part - heavily, HEAVILY played-up at the VERY least. But even so, I honestly found the act endearing, so I've always been kind of fond of Busey and hoped that, crazy or not, he would get through his life without having done anything bad like this.

Alas - oh well. Another icon o-clasted.

Never really thought of it as an act, but I see what you mean.

Here’s an article about him from a few years ago. Mentions his accident (for those who may not know), his addiction problem, insulting comments,Trump, etc. Frankly, I think many people just shrugged off some of his behaviour because they knew about his brain injury.

*weeps from rage*

[A]s the informant disappeared inside with a career criminal with a rap sheet spanning three decades, her law enforcement handlers left her undercover on her own — unprotected and unmonitored in real time. And the devices she carried passively recorded a crime far more horrific than any drug buy.

Under threat of violence, the dealer forced the woman to perform oral sex on him — twice — in an attack so brazen he paused at one point to conduct a separate drug deal, according to interviews and confidential law enforcement records obtained by The Associated Press.

“It was one of the worst depictions of sexual abuse I have ever seen,” said a local official who viewed the footage and spoke to AP on condition of anonymity because he wasn’t authorized to discuss the ongoing case.

That that's a local story for me. I'm curious to see if there will be any actual fallout of any kind.

Someone sent an exploding package to Boston's Northwestern University last night, that injured a staffer who tried to open it. The package was sent specifically to the school's "immersive media lab" and included a manifesto ranting about Mark Zuckerberg and virtual world technology, giving the attack an almost Unabomber-tribute kind of vibe.

I wasn't sure if I should post this in the food forum...

A food company executive was arrested on a pair of charges after reportedly biting a man’s nose in a parking garage in Fayetteville on Saturday night.

Doug Ramsey, 53, of Fayetteville, was arrested on September 17 on charges of terroristic threatening and third-degree battery. According to a preliminary report, the incident happened at a parking garage near Razorback Stadium following Arkansas’ victory over Missouri State.

God damned fucking bullshit.

So far, all the evidence points at the deputies shooting her to death simply because she RAN TO THEM.

EDIT: Added the link to the news report, because apparently @ABC7 had to remove the twitter post about it (they haven't removed the ones where they reported she was shooting at the police).

We're rapidly running out of ways to interact with the cops. Run away = get shot. Stand your ground = get shot. Go towards them = get shot. Also don't reach for your ID, don't fail to have your ID, don't be on someone else's property, don't be on your own property, don't be asleep when they open fire on someone else nearby for violating one of the above guidelines. By this point the only safe interaction seems to be from the other side of the ocean on a muted phone call.

Hey guys it's time to normalize serial-killer behavior

Eh. We could go on a whole debate about the history of humanity's ancestor worship and coping mechanisms. I think the weirdest thing I have seen is a culture keeping the mummified heads of the decased.

It's unusual, it's 'creepy' in the way that we're not used to actually keeping a part of the body in our regions, but others would probably be weirded out by keeping the burnt ashes of a relative in their home (Which you still can't do legally in Germany here by the way, for some weird reason, at all).

It's certainly fair enough, and handling death is certainly something that has changed in like all kinds of random directions in almost every culture over time.

In the US for instance, early on there was no "funeral home", the funeral was at your home, and the dead body just hung around with you on display for a while. I've seen very early photographs from families who had their children sitting on a couch with some extremely dead relative like it was an Easter Bunny photo or something.

This was done when I was a kid in Canada, I remember kind of hating the smell of roses and jasmine because that's what they used to disguise the smell of the body during the wake which often lasted two or three days. The body would be in a box or coffin at the house and everyone would come over and pay their respects. After the wake, a funeral director would pick them up and cart them off to the graveyard with all the family members following. Everyone would meet at the graveyard where the priest would bless them, give a eulogy and they would be buried. I have pictures that my family took of the dead family members during the wake. I guess that was a thing then.

It looks like this is still being done: Having a funeral at home, not at a funeral home

I don't think I'd want a home funeral or wake but the idea of a green burial does appeal to me. Also when my step Dad died I kept some of his ashes in a locket that the funeral home gave me. I'm not sure that's all that different than keeping a tattoo?
