Is that not something "better"? It may sound silly but who would want to form a government worse than the one they have declared independence from? They saw some of what the Iroquois did as something worth emulating so they did.

Once again, I have never claimed the constitution is based solely on the Great Law.

There was a whole sentence there. And others before and after it. They go together. Like in a paragraph.

The main problem with your argument is that it is based on sources a couple of centuries after the events. The people who wrote the Articles of Confederation and the Constitution wrote lots of other things. Some about the Articles of Confederation and the Constitution. And they wrote a lot about Classical history, Enlightenment philosophy, and British law.

The document that you gave us lists a few vague principles from the Great Law next to very specific language from the Constitution that happens to have been written about in the Federalist and Anti-Federalist papers. With lots of specific references to English law, Enlightenment philosophy, and Classical history. Generalities that were common to a great many systems of government. Within a few yards of where I sit I could pull more concrete parallels from early Chinese philosophers. Yet I would not call the Constitution a Confucian document.

As I mentioned, the idea of a Confederation operating by concensus between the states was in part inspired by the Iroquois. But after the inability of the colonies to react forcefully to Shay's Rebrllion almost ended the system they largely abandoned those elements in favor of a strong Federal government. When Washington was able to raise an army and quickly put down the Whiskey Rebellion it demonstrated the effectiveness of the Constitutional government.

But those responses of support were soon drowned out by a very different tone, as people shared horror stories of being denied covered by the health insurance company and made morbid jokes comparing the CEO’s death to the ways they’ve been mistreated by the U.S. health care system.

A Facebook post by UnitedHealth Group, the parent company of UnitedHealthcare, said it was “deeply saddened and shocked at the passing of our dear friend and colleague Brian Thompson.” But that post has garnered over 11,000 laughing emojis as of the time of this writing, far outweighing the more somber emojis used to express condolences. Comments have been turned off for that post, but shares included comments like “I would offer thoughts and prayers but they are not covered as they are out of network.”

It's insane. I really hate being on a rural road when one of those cars comes toward me and the headlights are so blinding I literally can't see anything else at all! When I flick my high beams at them, they flick theirs back, but, honestly, I can barely tell the difference!
