Troopers to patrol schools in Springfield, Ohio, after threats linked to false claims about Haitian immigrants

Ohio Gov. Mike DeWine is deploying the Ohio State Highway Patrol to monitor schools in the city of Springfield after they received 33 bomb threats since late last week, he said at a news conference Monday.

Two colleges were moved to virtual learning and two elementary schools were evacuated Monday after receiving separate threats. The threats so far haven’t had “any validity at all,” DeWine said in a news conference Monday afternoon.

The threats and closures come amid ongoing fallout from baseless allegations former President Donald Trump made during the second presidential debate that Haitian immigrants in the city are stealing and eating local pets.

I don't think it's even visual illumination necessarily. If they tracks how signals are getting scattered or interrupted, it probably shows roughly where the planes are located.

Online posters have claimed that an Irish teacher has been arrested and jailed for refusing to use a transgender pupil’s preferred pronouns.

One person wrote: “Irish Christian teacher arrested for refusing to endorse and affirm transgender ideology.”

Another, who is a German Member of the European Parliament, said: “In Ireland, a teacher is being jailed for the third time because he refused to address a #Transgender student with the pronoun “they.” Madness in the #EU, the sick work of gender ideologues trying to abolish biology!”

The teacher – Enoch Burke – has been repeatedly sent to prison for failing to comply with a restraining order which banned him from entering the school at which he had previously worked.

He had been suspended – and later dismissed – from the school. The suspension followed his disruptive behaviour after being asked to refer to a pupil as “they”.

Kentucky sheriff who allegedly killed judge faced allegations of ignoring deputy's abuse of woman in his chambers

The sheriff who allegedly shot and killed a rural Kentucky judge in his courthouse chambers was accused in a federal lawsuit of failing to investigate allegations that one of his deputies repeatedly sexually abused a woman in the same judge's chambers.

Stines was deposed on Monday in a lawsuit filed by two women, one of whom alleged that a deputy forced her to have sex inside Mullins' chambers for six months in exchange for staying out of jail. The lawsuit accuses the sheriff of "deliberate indifference in failing to adequately train and supervise" the deputy.

The now-former deputy sheriff, Ben Fields, pleaded guilty to raping the female prisoner while she was on home incarceration. Fields was sentenced this year to six months in jail and then six and a half years on probation for rape, sodomy, perjury and tampering with a prisoner monitoring device, The Mountain Eagle reported. Three charges related to a second woman were dismissed because she is now dead.

Stines fired Fields, who was his successor as Mullins' bailiff, for "conduct unbecoming" after the lawsuit was filed in 2022, The Courier Journal reported at the time.

New York Magazine’s Washington correspondent Olivia Nuzzi sent “demure” nude photos to Robert F. Kennedy Jr. which he later bragged about, two new reports claim.

The publication announced Thursday that Nuzzi, 31, had been placed on leave after disclosing a “personal relationship” with “a former subject” relevant to the election. Soon afterwards, media reporter Oliver Darcy revealed that subject to be 70-year-old RFK Jr, who is married to the actor Cheryl Hines.

Nuzzi apparently sent nude photos to the former independent presidential candidate, Puck News reported on Friday. Kennedy then bragged to his friends about receiving intimate photos of Nuzzi, The Daily Beast reported Saturday. These boasts ultimately made their way back to her boss, New York Magazine editor David Haskell.

Conspiracy theorist and pillow-pusher Mike Lindell is facing backlash online after his company marked down some of its pillows to $14.88, a figure seen as symbolic for white supremacists and neo-Nazis.

On Friday, Lindell and his MyPillow business advertised the discounted products on social media, promising consumers the “ultimate comfort upgrade.”

“Sleep like a dream with our Standard MyPillow for just $14.88!” the posts read in part.

The number “1488” is a common symbol used among hate groups. The “14” is shorthand for the “14 Words,” a stand-in for a white supremacist slogan, while “88” refers to an abbreviation of “Heil Hitler,” since H is the eighth letter of the alphabet.
