Did you know, this state has a digital driver license app, AND very soon after the pandemic it optionally included your COVID vaccine record? Yeah, THIS place. I still can hardly believe it. How that managed to come into existence without anyone complaining or anyone in the legislature freaking out and demanding it be canceled is...I dunno, beats the heck out of me.

Last year when I was far into preparing to move to Vermont (didn't work out sadly), I found out that state didn't have any of that. So weird.

That is why I call it Lousyana getting lousier aka wishy washy.

On the same time China is now gaining more scientists than it is exporting. Although the study does not track the migration streams, it is safe to say that a certain amount of US researchers went to China.

Last Friday, Necromancer Brewing, a craft beer company based in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, released its very first light American lager, dubbed “Even Gayer Light Beer.”

A portion of the proceeds from the sales of this beer and accompanying merchandise will be donated to Gay4good, a nonprofit organization that supports and empowers the LGBTQ+ community.

Upon its initial release, “Even Gayer” sold out within an hour of being available to the public. However, the brewery still has the beer on draft, and the “Even Gayer” merchandise is still available for purchase.

“Beer is for everybody,” Necromancer Brewing wrote on Facebook when debuting its latest addition. “No exceptions.”

Russia has for years positioned itself as a bastion of "traditional" values in contrast with Western liberalism as its relations with the West have deteriorated over its 2014 annexation of Crimea and 2022 full-scale invasion of Ukraine.

Timur Beslangurov, a migration lawyer at Moscow’s VISTA Foreign Business Support, claimed that “around 200 families” wish to emigrate to Russia for “ideological reasons.”

Lori Vallow Daybell found guilty of murdering her children and conspiring to kill her husband’s first wife


Vallow Daybell, who pleaded not guilty, was charged with two counts of first-degree murder and three counts of conspiracy in the 2019 deaths of her children 17-year-old Tylee Ryan and 7-year-old Joshua “JJ” Vallow, as well as Tammy Daybell, the first wife of her husband Chad Daybell.
She is facing life in prison when sentenced.

A jury of seven men and five women began deliberating Thursday afternoon and reached a unanimous guilty verdict Friday afternoon.

She will be transferred from Ada County to Fremont County for further proceedings and sentencing. Judge Steven Boyce said sentencing will occur in about three months.

Among Vallow Daybell’s charges were grand theft on suspicion of changing bank accounts to collect Social Security benefits on behalf of her children after their deaths, according to a May 2021 indictment. Prosecutors said Thursday she didn’t report her children missing to keep collecting the money, East Idaho News reported.

I am not sure why you chose that particular news to post Cody but it strikes somewhat close to home.

The love of my life, Anne Cottrell, aka Fairplay Playfair died last January. Her very best friend other than me was Billy Gardipe. He died of covid early in the epidemic. He had a daughter that I never met named Leannah Gardipe. There are a number of stories from November 2021 about her such as this one. I have not seen any followup news stories since about her sentence, surely either life in prison or the death sentence.

The pandemic really seemed to slow the process down a lot; but even before then, prosecuting really serious crimes has always been a painfully slow process.
