The whole weird thing where some comedians on social media are like "do I have to be afraid of getting slapped by someone in the audience if I make fun of them now omg how do I even work" is so funny to me. Which, I mean, is a comedian's whole job after all.

Why haven't they banned the Pride and Prejudice books? Or Uncle Tom's Cabin? Or The Help?

Or any of these:

This might not be a very smart question to ask but I gotta. Since when are trans not considered part of being gay? I mean that in a "same sex desire" kind of way if that makes sense. I'm aware they haven't always been considered a part of the LGBT+ community by that community but they (LGBT+) are not the ones I'm asking about.

God, I wish Roxanne were here. She'd get it. I miss her. 😢

I was going to put this in the Florida man thread but this is good stuff not stupid stuff.

Judge blocks all new Florida voter suppression laws — then knocks the Supreme Court for putting voting rights 'under siege' (msn.com)

In a 288-page document, District Court Judge Mark Walker blocked the Florida voter suppression bill and specifically called out judges and the Supreme Court for undercutting the Voting Rights Act. Mark Joseph Stern, Slate's court and law writer, cited several excerpts in the judge's decision that make the decision groundbreaking. Until the case goes to the Supreme Court, Florida's suppression laws will be stopped.

Notorious RBG: "Throwing out preclearance when it has worked and is continuing to work to stop discriminatory changes is like throwing away your umbrella in a rainstorm because you are not getting wet."

Umm... what?!

California corporate diversity law, which mandated diversification of corporate boards, ruled unconstitutional (msn.com)

A Los Angeles judge ruled Friday that California's landmark law mandating that corporations diversify their boards with members from certain racial, ethnic or LGBT groups is unconstitutional.

The brief ruling granted summary judgment to Judicial Watch, a conservative legal group that sought a permanent injunction against the measure that was signed into law last year. The ruling didn't explain the judge's reasoning.
