I heard that could get cut in half for good behavior...
Cutting him in half would violate the "cruel and usual" provision of the 8th amendment, but it could be entertaining if done right ; P

Carlin is a comedy professional: he pays attention to ticket sales, book sales, not breaking his base, and a pathological fear of having to work dive bars at midnight again for tips in two-traffic-light towns in 'Jersey.

Michael Cohen just got three years.

Details:

Trump ex-attorney Michael Cohen sentenced: 3 years prison, $500,000 forfeiture, $1.4 million restitution, $50,000 fine

Donald Trump's longtime “fixer” and personal attorney has been sentenced to to 36 months (3 years) in federal prison, plus an additional 3 years of supervised release, in a case in the Southern District of New York. Judge William H. Pauley of SDNY also sentenced Cohen to 2 months for lying to Congress, to be served concurrently to his primary 36-month sentence. He also issued an order for $500,000 in forfeiture, payment of $1.39 million in back taxes, and a $50,000 fine. Judge Paule ordered an additional $50,000 fine for lying to Congress. There are additional terms of imprisonment but all will be served by Cohen concurrently.

How long before Trump tries to pardon him?
I don’t know if he will pardon him. I expect him to pardon Manafort. But most of all I expect when it is clear he is going to leave office, he does so ten minutes earlier than he has to, so Pence can pardon him.

So I've got a hot and controversial take for you: George Carlin was pretty awful.
Carlin was a product of his time. Of living through decades of American history -- post-WWII cultural conservatism, Vietnam, the King/Kennedy assassination, civil rights movement -- that seared all of us and divided the nation. You cannot judge him by today's standards because he's not here now, to react to our current time. Judged by those times, he was brilliant and incredibly influential in his genre.

Based on your comments, you actually seem to be saying he was pretty awful as a human being. You question his choice of topics and the way in which he frames his criticism. He was an angry many and pretty much skewered everyone. I've been stung by his barbs against feminism and gay women, so I can sympathize with your reaction. But you're a bit young for understanding -- at a visceral emotional level -- the context of Carlin's emergence. He's not a comic of your time. In my time, he was breathtaking.

Hah! I saw him as a teenager in the early to mid '70s in NJ. It was no two light town though. It was somewhere in Camden as I recall. He was so funny.
