As I mentioned in the previous thread, once you recognize the talking points, you know exactly where these people are getting their information from. Over time, they don’t even see the nonsense — it’s exactly how FOX and Limbaugh end up convincing their audience the sun is the moon. As for casually posting these hucksters, it’s the same method through which white nationalists use Breitbart to recruit the gullible and misanthropic. Conspiracy mongers like Dore count on useful idiots from the Left to promote them for their grift.

Anyone who listens to Dore and his ilk is telling me all I need to know about them and how far down the food chain of information they have to dive to validate their preferred narratives. There is zero excuse to willfully and deliberately spread his brand. They can argue all they want about people judging for themselves, but the result is things like Sandy Hook parents being harassed over the murder of their children for years.

The difference is that people have been forced to recognize how vulnerable our system of government is to bad faith actors. We’ve watched the swift dismantling of government services, the looting of the country, and civil rights atrocities that will stain our country forever (and rightly so) take place in real time without any consideration or remorse.

Fight or flight, and “all is lost” eeyore instincts do crazy things. Fear warps people. It’s why FOX keeps its audience constantly terrified.
