By scanning the brains of adults who played Pokémon as kids, researchers learned that this group of people have a brain region that responds more to the cartoon characters than to other pictures. More importantly, this charming research method has given us new insight into how the brain organizes visual information.

For the study, published today in the journal Nature Human Behavior, researchers recruited 11 adults who were “experienced” Pokémon players — meaning they began playing between the ages of five and eight, continued for a while, and then played again as adults — and 11 novices. First, they tested all of the participants on the names of pokémon to make sure the pros actually could tell a Clefairy from a Chansey. Next, they scanned the participants’ brains while showing them images of all 150 original pokémon (in rounds of eight) alongside other images, like animals, faces, cars, words, corridors, and other cartoons. In experienced players, a specific region responded more to the pokémon than to these other images. For novices, this region — which is called the occipitotemporal sulcus and often processes animal images — didn’t show a preference for pokémon.

As in finding how to get to a certain point in the game geography?
I haven't played minecraft or FF but I find ease of navigation really depends on how maps and terrain are handled in the games I have played. Having a good map is the first requirement for me. Not having stupid terrain blockages is the second (I'm looking at you, WoW)

It depends on the game. Several have a main map plus a mini-map. In two games I play, the main map is keyed to 'M'.
(Which is why I keep getting mouselook when in SL )

In PC Minecraft, yes you do. Which will require redstone because you have to make a compass first to make a map. However in console minecraft, you start with one.

So...today I opened up Steam to have no categories. All of my meticulously added categories (which I would add each game to as I got it over many years time now) were wiped out with the exception of non-steam games.

So now, I'm going to take the easy way out and use something called De-pressurizer which, when I specify parameters, will auto-categorize and best thing is that I can keep a backup.

So you played Lucio "the caress slowly to death" hero all over that match (on Oasis there's not so much where you can boop them to death), and had the most eliminations but lost due to your team mates not doing their job? Now that's what I do really call a bad team, which doesn't care at all. Typical for silver/bronze ranks, and thanks to Blizzard and their inability to provide role queues/relevant match making quite the norm of what you can expect in Overwatch.
