I got an early Christmas present this year!

...although for the PC, not the PS4 obvs.
This is my new favorite game ever.

I really recommend it to anyone.

There's two things you should know before buying it though: first, it has no difficulty adjustment setting. Like an old 8/16-bit console game, what you get is what you get. That might be a problem for some, because a couple of the fights can be really tough, especially near the end, and you might get stuck trying for a while getting through them and repeatedly dying before you finally muscle through. Secondly, the game autosaves your progress, but you restart at fixed save-locations rather than any old where you happen to be when you last autosaved. That means sometimes when you die it might be a couple minutes' jog back to the area you were in when you restart.

These minor annoyances don't ruin the game for me though.

Be prepared to read a lot of documents and watch a number of video clips that you will find while playing; reading them isn't necessary and won't "help" you in a gameplay sense, but the story and lore they impart is intriguing and rewarding!

Yeah, I picked this up on the sale. It's kind of really rough. I think I died 20 times on the first boss. The one that flies around and throws death at you.

Yeah you're not the only one. ^^

It took me a while but I finally figured out how to stay moving and hide behind things during that fight. I also learned in this fight that you CAN move around while using the commandeer-wounded-enemy ability...just don't let go of the button.

So, I'm enjoying Control but I keep encountering some sort of bug where it locks up when interacting with media devices (TV, Radios, etc). The whole game freezes, sometimes the audio keeps going. I basically have to kill it in task manager, and ofen have to do a full restart because the game doesn't quite seem to die.

The Epic store sees it as still running and even after restarting Epic, it can't relaunch the game because there is still an unkillable task running.

This isn't mine, but I've gotten pretty good at doing this. Killing Junkrat's rip-tire as Mercy. Her weapon is about the weakest in the game, but she has the best position to find it before it explodes. And it's gotta suck to have your ultimate killed by Mercy's pea-shooter :ROFLMAO:

It's nice that the game recognized this as play of the game, but that doesn't happen if you don't also kill the Junkrat.

Did you ever find a fix for that problem?

Yes. I think. And it isn't actually related to the game.

Basically, the hard drive it was installed on seems to be failing, so it would vanish mid game, but it didn't become a problem until the game needed to load something new.

It's not really that weak, it does 20 damage per shot or 100 damage per second and it does deal head shots as well, so if Mercy is able to use it properly she can kill quite many heroes easily and quickly enough with it. And it only takes 100 damage to destroy that tire, so it is not that hard to kill when you know how to deal damage.

If I remeber right, Mercy's gun also.benefits because the projectile size is huge, so it's easy to hit things with as well.

Mercy's gun fires projectiles, as opposed to hitscan, which hits wherever it is you're aiming. That means Mercy's gun is harder to aim than the hitscan weapons, like McCree and Soldier. But the projectile hitbox is larger.

Interesting. Math...

Mercy: 1.4s reload, 20 shot capacity takes 4 seconds to shoot and does 500 damage if it all hits. 500 damage/5.4s = 93 damage per second maximum.
Reinhardt: 75 damage per swing per 0.9s, no reload, 83 damage per second.

The difference is that Reinhardt can hit multiple opponents per swing and it's dead simple to hit, but his range is very limited.

McCree: 6 shots, 2.38 shots per second, 1.5s reload, 4 seconds to empty and reload, 35-70 damage per shot. Maximum 420 damage/4s, or 105 damage per second. Half that at range. Up to 75-150 dps with fan the hammer, if you hit anything :)

I remember the first DPS I killed with Mercy. Soldier had me trapped with nobody to guardian angel to, so I could just die or I could shoot him...and he somehow lost that duel.

You are neglecting the fact that Mercy's pistol is able to land headshots, so a headshot is 20 x 2 = 40 damage if I do remember the multiplier correctly, meaning you do need 5 headshots in a row to kill most heroes.
