I didn’t set out to become an enemy of the world’s richest man, but I seem to have managed it all the same.substack.com

It's a case of "When thieves fall out, then honest men rejoice." They deserve each other.Sorry, I can't hear the points Sam is making, I'm still deaf from his fairy tales making excuses for slaughtering children in Gaza.

Maybe Musk just made an "awkward gesture in a moment of enthusiasm" — two of them, back-to-back — or maybe he's just being taken out of context. In this age of confusion, who could say for sure?
So, to settle it once and for all, why not turn to Musk's very own "maximum truth-seeking AI," Grok? Asked to answer in one word the ideology it would most closely relate to Musk's onstage gesture, Grok didn't hesitate.
"Fascism," the AI chatbot replied.
He also was - alongside Christopher Hitchens, Daniel Dennett and Richard Dawkins - one of the "four horsemen of atheism".Sorry, I can't hear the points Sam is making, I'm still deaf from his fairy tales making excuses for slaughtering children in Gaza.
The only one of them that I've read in any detail is Richard Dawkins, and I thought his book was utterly simple-minded -- he was recycling good old-fashioned C19th god-bashing, which would have been all very well had he been writing a about a hundred or so years earlier, but suggested he'd never heard of Nietzsche or anyone more recent, and left me completely cold. It also seemed pretty dishonest, in that you're supposed to attack your opponent's strongest case, and he spent the whole book demonstrating that fundamentalist evangelicals who believe in young earth creationism and the literal truth of every word in the Bible are idiots. Well, yes... but I tried to imagine him having that sort of argument with the college chaplain and the theology and philosophy dons at his Oxford college, and couldn't see it.He also was - alongside Christopher Hitchens, Daniel Dennett and Richard Dawkins - one of the "four horsemen of atheism".
Something about that always felt off to me, and it took me a while to figure out what it was: those four guys basically took on the roles of "prophets" for atheism, which is fundamentally incompatible with what atheism actually means. Atheists (myself included) have no need for prophets, so whenever anyone seeks fame by becoming more than a mere communicator for this intellectual position, they're almost guaranteed to be complete dipshits in the end.
Oh, and did you know that he's a fan of (the discredited pseudo-science book) "The Bell Curve" and believes that black people are less intelligent than white people? (source)
So it wasn't a Nazi salute, it was an AfD salute. Great. The Guardian (@theguardian.com)

Don't remember that past, no way you'll be doomed to repeat it. C:
The British newspaper the Sunday Times recently reported that President Donald Trump's chief of staff, Susie Wiles, "has denied the billionaire touted as ‘the real vice-president’ a permanent office in the heart of the White House."
Popular analyst Brian Allen said that Wiles "has reportedly put a leash on 'DOGE' and Elon Musk’s direct line to Trump."
"Instead of cozying up in the West Wing, DOGE is getting parked outside in the Eisenhower building—far from the action," he wrote. "And here’s the kicker: DOGE won’t be reporting to Trump directly anymore. It’s Wiles calling the shots now. Looks like the power games are in full swing, and Musk’s influence just got a reality check."
