Sadly for the loose nuts and 'marginally functional' varieties, SoCal has been getting way too damned expensive for anyone without being sponsored by someone better at adulting.

That is sad. For me, a large part of the charm of San Diego and vicinity was the stuff like your Tibet booster or the "boat houses" up in Encinitas. (I'm sure Jopsy knows what I'm talking about, but for those unfamiliar, see below.) Or there was the crusty old commercial fisherman who insisted on taking several of the announcers from our station to calamari lunch from time to time.

Great article! I'd be tempted to send to my mom, who is another old trad wife, but she's not nearly online enough to understand what this is really driving at and that's for the best! lol.

I think "Trad wife" is an absurd fetishized version of the 1950's in much the same way that Gor is a super accurate fetishized version of the Bronze Age. But at least the Gor role players mostly know it's absurd and that the Priest Kings were never real, etc.

I have a little girl leading a dinosaur on a leash (I love dinosaurs) and a "Cat Limo" sticker because I actually do transport ferrel and community cats to foster homes and vet offices for a community cat charity. I'm kind of partial to the zombie stick figure families too. I welcomely embrace the crazy cat lady persona and I really don't give a darn about what people think.

I have agreed to accept another older girl cat. She's going to be here on the 13th. So yeah ....
