That is sad. For me, a large part of the charm of San Diego and vicinity was the stuff like your Tibet booster or the "boat houses" up in Encinitas. (I'm sure Jopsy knows what I'm talking about, but for those unfamiliar, see below.) Or there was the crusty old commercial fisherman who insisted on taking several of the announcers from our station to calamari lunch from time to time.Well, that certainly explains the Florida Man effect.
Sadly for the loose nuts and 'marginally functional' varieties, SoCal has been getting way too damned expensive for anyone without being sponsored by someone better at adulting.
