My unfair assumptions about bumper stickers.

I see:
A Canadian flag: Antivaxxer or loudly no to 51st State.
Either way any conversation will end in a loud argument or purity testing.

Stick Family:
Avoid or end up cornered into loud demands to justify my being childless.

Any political position:
Loud argument or purity testing.

Bumper sticker? Avoiding you.

Follow me for more peace of mind life hacks.

I agree. I kind of cringe when I see most bumper stickers. Even political ones I agree with make me think they are likely obnoxious and preachy. And if it's an atheist/Darwin bumper sticker, it makes me think they are an argumentative atheist, where as I'm the sort of atheist who prefers peace.

I will also painfully confess that back when I was a young Lolbretarian, I had one of those "Don't Steal, the Government hates competition" stickers. After my opinions changed, I found out how hard it is to get those fuckers off a car! I think some of the adhesive remained until I got a new car.

As someone who had a stick figure family, I am offended and demmand to know why you think you are so superior without kids.

:p

Also, here is a funny paradox, my son drives that car now, and has removed all but one stick figure. Its just one stick figure dude now. Where does that fall?

Seem to remember having a "I Brake for Yard Sales" one years ago. A public service announcement, as my sister, who mostly drove it, was a mence to other drivers if she spotted one.

I have a little girl leading a dinosaur on a leash (I love dinosaurs) and a "Cat Limo" sticker because I actually do transport ferrel and community cats to foster homes and vet offices for a community cat charity. I'm kind of partial to the zombie stick figure families too. I welcomely embrace the crazy cat lady persona and I really don't give a darn about what people think.

I have agreed to accept another older girl cat. She's going to be here on the 13th. So yeah ....

I enjoy all bumper stickers, because it provides me the opportunity to play e-psychologist for a bit, and query (strictly myself!) what might have brought someone to decide that putting "I SOMETIMES STOP FOR VEGANS" or "COPACETIC FOR PEACE" or "I ♡ BELGIAN WAFFLES"" or "MAKE AMERICA FLORIDA" on their car was in any way necessary. Beyond, of course, the very human, desperate desire for any form of interconnection that might be found amongst the soul-crushing, brutalist landscape that is the American roadways.

Bumper stickers are very out of fashion here in SoCal.

The vast majority seem to be pristine and stickerless. Even the "My Child is a... [bragbrag]" seems to have sorta gone away.

There's still a lot of radio station bumper stickers and business decals hawking their services/contact info. Or the various monster drink / dragon sunglasses like decals.

And then there's that one car in 300 that HAS ALL THE LIBERAL STICKERS IN THE WORLD READ THEM ALL!!!!! RAWRR!!!!" and it's slightly common counterpart the flag festooned Mecha-MAGA pick'm'up truck with rifle rack and country music blaring, rolling through the gay neighborhood trying to scare the locals.

And, then there's the one-of-a-kind beat up yellow hatchback with Tibet stickers all over it blasting tibetian throat singing out its open windows. MUaaaaa wAaaaAAaaaaaa MUAAAAaaaawaaaaaaa! Cracks me up every time he goes down my street on his prayer wheels. =D

More evidence in support of the oft-maligned Continental Tilt Theory of Southern California which states that the entire continent is tilted in such a way that all the loose nuts roll to the lower left-hand corner. 👍

Well, that certainly explains the Florida Man effect. :D

Sadly for the loose nuts and 'marginally functional' varieties, SoCal has been getting way too damned expensive for anyone without being sponsored by someone better at adulting.
