Once in a while I get in the mood for a really good Reuben from a place called the Kibbitz Room. Shown as takeout of half the sandwich along with some potato salad, a pickle and a slice of cheese cake.

The Reuben looks pretty good. And chocolate chip cheesecake!

The potato salad looks a little like coleslaw. (kidding!)

I'm sick and tired of places charging me FULL effing PRICE for made-to-order items that I have to ask that they leave the cheese off of. "How much is extra cheese? Discount my order by that much or ALLOW ME TO MAKE AN EFFING SUBSTITUTION."

But no, standard practice now is "No substitutions, period. You want no cheese and extra mushrooms? You pay full base price AND more for the extra mushrooms.

/me glares specifically at Papa John's. "Jerkbags."

McD's experienced a worldwide technical outage yesterday that kept their franchises from handling orders for a few hours.

Operations at the global fast-food chain McDonald’s have slowed Friday, as widespread IT system outages hit stores in multiple countries across the Asia-Pacific region and beyond, leaving staff unable to process electronic orders and hungry customers frustrated.

McDonald’s Japan posted on X on Friday afternoon local time that they were experiencing a “system failure” and in another post said that “many stores nationwide are temporarily closed.”

Screens of self-ordering kiosks as well as order terminals used by employees were either black or displaying “out of service” messages, according to photos taken in restaurants in Singapore and Australia, while customers have complained that they have also been unable to order on the McDonald’s app.
