Even Kavanaugh's wife doesn't seem to buy the "I was a virgin!" defense:
I agree, but when they were in office many democrats were supremely unconcerned about their misdeeds. So, it makes it difficult for the juveniles on the right to take the left seriously when they howl about people on the right doing exactly the same things. I keep telling them that two wrongs do not make a right, and they're always claiming to be morally better than the left, but that just goes right by them.Bill Clinton hasn't held public office for 18 years.
Ted Kennedy is dead.
Brett Kavanaugh is a current nominee for a position on the Supreme Court of the United States.
Donald Trump is current President of the United States
Actually, Teddy was one of those politicians who loved the senate. His main reason for running for president was because it was The Thing To Do and I am guessing there was lots of family pressure (not to mentions from many other libs) involved after his brothers were assassinated. Not that it talks to Chappaquiddick but it explains his presidential run.The problem is that both sides are guilty of situational ethics. Bill Clinton should have resigned or been removed from office, and I'm not just talking about Monica Lewinsky I'm talking about Jennifer Flowers, Juanita Broadrrick, Paula Jones, etc. But, he didn't/wasn't, so the juvenile right can point to that and say, "But, But....Clinton."
Chappaquidick - need I say more? Ted Kennedy MURDERED that girl. If he had gone for help immediately - she would have lived. She apparently lived 3-4 hours after the accident. Yet, Democrats in Massachusetts continued returning him to Congress every election until he died. So, murder's okay if you're a democrat? He didn't get to be President - maybe because Democrats outside of Massachusetts have a stronger sense of right and wrong? And let's not pretend that Chappaquidick was Kennedy's only scandal. He's another one who couldn't keep it in his fucking pants.
I just wish people on either side would be more fucking consistent.
If he was an ace it would be one thing. By all accounts he was a party animal and was FAR from asexual though.Even Kavanaugh's wife doesn't seem to buy the "I was a virgin!" defense:

Yeah - I don't think he ever wanted to be president. I think he was under family pressure to run. Same thing with Jeb Bush - he didn't want to be president.Actually, Teddy was one of those politicians who loved the senate. Although I sort of think it would be interesting (not that it would be a great idea) to be governed by someone who did not want the job. If nothing else it would weed out the people that craved power for its own sake.Yeah - I don't think he ever wanted to be president. I think he was under family pressure to run. Fuck no. But, next time a similar situation comes up with a Democrat then Dems need to not be hypocrites and condemn that person too, and they need to stop treating Billy Boy Clinton like he's some elder statesman/little darling of the democratic party.Simple question: Should Kavanaugh be made a Supreme Court justice because Bill Clinton was elected and allowed to remain president, and Ted Kennedy was incompetent when it came to emergency situations?
Yes, or no?
Even among people on the left he was pretty much a joke. Why do you keep bringing up Bill Clinton as a comparison?
In this age of me too, there are countless celebrities, left leaning celebrities, with large fan left leaning fan bases, who have felt the repercussions of their actions and harsh criticism from the left once the stories came up.
Bill Clinton was skeezy, not argument there, but using only him as the basis for how “the left” are hypocrits in TODAYS age of sexual harassment and sexual assault accusations is pretty disingenuous.
This makes 3 now? Yes, the Rs will REALLY look bad rushing his confirmation through at this point!New allegations against Kavanaugh:
New allegations against Kavanaugh submitted to Senate committee - CNNPolitics
In a sworn declaration, Swetnick — a Washington, D.C., resident — said she was a “victim of one of these ‘gang’ or ‘train’ rapes where Mark Judge and Brett Kavanaugh were present” at a party in Washington, D.C., in approximately 1982.
“During the incident, I was incapacitated without my consent and unable to fight off the boys raping me,” she wrote, noting that she shared what happened with “at least two other people” shortly after the incident. “I believe I was drugged using Quaaludes or something similar placed in what I was drinking.”
Swetnick said she first met Kavanaugh and Judge, a classmate of Kavanaugh’s who came to the nominee’s defense, around 1980-1981. She described the two as “extremely close friends” who were “joined at the hip.”
She said she attended “well over ten house parties” from 1981 to 1983. Between 1981 and 1982, she said at these parties she began to notice Judge, Kavanaugh and others would attempt to “‘spike’ the ‘punch’ at house parties I attended with drugs and/or grain alcohol so as to cause girls to lose their inhibitions and their ability to say ‘No.’”
Kavanaugh and Judge, she said, would “‘target’ particular girls … it was usually a girl that was especially vulnerable because she was alone at the party or shy.” She said she has a “firm recollection” of seeing boys ― including Judge and Kavanaugh ― “lined up outside rooms at many of these parties waiting for their ‘turn’ with a girl inside the room.”
