I have a different view. The deep state is the four million mostly honest and patriotic civil service people working for the federal government, plus the active duty military. The current mess is, according to my gut, which is usually fairly spot on; designed to punish PoC for being 'uppity', discredit Antifa by running around in black, and generally cause a civil war because the far right are stupid enough to think only they have weapons, so they think they can win, 'specially if they discredit groups that won't take their side.
