I would love to see Biden say he will not enter the white house grounds until it is fumigated. The funny thing is all the previous occupant's stuff is taken out and the new person's belongings are all moved in a fast choreography while the swearing in and parade are going on ... so it would be interesting to see how they pull it off.

Mary Trump's book -

I'm midway through it, which is a bit of a record for me considering that I still haven't finished several other books on Trump. Some are very good, many are just tedious once you already know how utterly corrupt and stupid this administration is. Trump has become over-exposed by the media, leaving little mystery to research.

But Mary is setting a higher bar as far as tell-alls, I think. I don't totally trust her reasons for not publishing this earlier, but then again who knew that her uncle would become the Most Powerful Man In the World? I thought I'd already become jaded to his excesses, but for some reason knowing the history of how he became such a sociopathic narcissist is very enlightening (as well as scary). And it makes complete sense when I look at the outward signs issuing from the WH.

The best news today? She will appear on Rachel Maddow tonight, and I cannot wait to hear what is said!

I had similar qualms until I heard the backstory that led to publication.

As part of the settlement of Fred Trump's estate, Mary and her brother signed an NDA on basically anything to do with the Trump family. Fairly recently, however, she was persuaded to help the NYTimes reporters dig into Trump's financial dealings. In reviewing the legal papers for her original estate suit and settlement, she realized that she'd been cheated out of millions of dollars because of hidden assets/tax fraud by the Trump heirs.

So whether it was from spite or a valid indignation at injustice, Mary decided that the NDA was invalidated by the fraud and she published this book that she'd been writing for a very long time.
