This is a good example of why I don't trust any of the information coming out of Gaza. Sources are mostly either bias or made up or both. ...and the modern age of easy photo editing technology makes that so much worse. If I was in charge of Israel, I'd probably also refuse to let in many journalists because even if there is nothing they want to cover up, it's too risky and dead Journalists don't make their public image better.

I'm sure the situation for civilians in Gaza is really bad even if we don't know details with any degree of certainty.

Jared Kushner says Gaza’s ‘waterfront property could be very valuable’
Jared Kushner has praised the “very valuable” potential of Gaza’s “waterfront property” and suggested Israel should remove civilians while it “cleans up” the strip.

The former property dealer, married to Donald Trump’s daughter Ivanka, made the comments in an interview at Harvard University on 15 February. The interview was posted on the YouTube channel of the Middle East Initiative, a program of Harvard’s Kennedy School of Government, earlier this month.
“Gaza’s waterfront property could be very valuable … if people would focus on building up livelihoods,” Kushner told his interviewer, the faculty chair of the Middle East Initiative, Prof Tarek Masoud. Kushner also lamented “all the money” that had gone into the territory’s tunnel network and munitions instead of education and innovation.

“It’s a little bit of an unfortunate situation there, but from Israel’s perspective I would do my best to move the people out and then clean it up,” Kushner said. “But I don’t think that Israel has stated that they don’t want the people to move back there afterwards.”
Rich. Fucking. Piece. Of. Shit.

The UN security council passed in a historic moment a resolution to Israel for immediate ceasefire in the Gaza strip. The US abstained and did not veto that decision. Seems Joe Biden is really pissed at Bibi.

I'm not quite sure Biden is really willing to change course. For starters, the supply of weapons to Israel continues unabated, and he personally bypassed checks and balances to make sure Bibi got his weapons to kill Palestinians. Second, the US armed forces continue supplying the IDF with intelligence and everything they need to continue their campaign. Third, as pointed out here, Linda Thomas-Greenfield was quick to dismiss the UN Security Council Resolution as "non-binding" (a claim immediately challenged by her colleagues) in a clear attempt to sabotage it.

Please note that Biden and the corporate faction of the Democratic party (i.e. the faction favoured by a certain SLebrity blogger that keeps railing against Sanders every chance she gets or makes) have not altered their actual policy towards Israel, even though its political system is openly and unabashedly pro-Trump, i.e. pro-fascist. The Overton window in Israel has moved to the farthest of far-right. Unless I see an actual change of course and rhetoric on behalf of the US, I won't believe the Biden administration (or the Scholz Kanzlerei in Germany, for that matter) is aware of how their unconditional support to Israel makes it look and what moral and diplomatic risks this entails.

Well our "beloved" German foreign minister, Annalena Baerbock, asked Israel these days not to follow the "playbook of terror" and for immediate ceasefire while being there. Of course this received little to none sympathy by the Israeli government.

It's not like the Israeli government will like this unanimous ICJ order, either. Or that it'll respect it.

This here is an interview of Bari Weiss with Lucy Aharish in Tel Aviv, who is one of the most famous news anchorwomen in Israel. Aharish is great at destroying stereotypes: she's the first Arabic muslimic news anchor in Israel's TV ever. She's not really a fan of Netanyahu, but also PLA/Hamas on the other side. She calls herself a Muslim and a Zionist; an Arab and an Israeli.

She was raised in a traditional Jewish village, survived as child a terror attack in Gaza strip and is married to Tzachi Halevy, a jew, with whom she's got a son.

Quote: "...true Muslims understand that Israel belongs to the Jewish people, and over time... Arabs who do not recognize this, will not stay here." So she's literally briging every gap imaginable in that area, and then some...
