Gachas to be banned in Second Life

Seriously though, SL has more than its fair share of self-important, entitled ass-clowns.

Just how many SIEACs would it take to constitute our fair share?

The MP was being hammered yesterday as people were changing prices, buying, and putting up new items in the used and gacha catagories. A lot of stuff was priced below the new pull price of 25L.

used: 123549 down a meager 172 items
gacha: 902465 up 757 items

I never liked Gachas much, because you seldom get what you really want. It just doesn't seem worth it.

Well, they're a con. They're not worth it and I'm glad LL put them out of our misery.

A lot of gacha lovers over there don't realize they are making efforts to get fishing and breedables banned as well, by showing how close they are to gachas.
Self importance can be killing.

If LL kills off breedables, that will kill the platform stone dead. All the people buying land for their breedables will just bail, and that's a very large percentage of land owning people.

So -yeah, LL loves their footbullets so I see them doing it, but it's still a suicidal move.

In my trips to Japan I found Gacha-Pon dedicated stores. 1st floor being the machines proper and 2nd floor being direct sales with a markup. I'd easily compare them to the toy and sticker dispensers seen at stores and malls. You're going to get something as indicated in the picture. Just not being totally clear which something that is. Commons and rares are a norm, given they can control the quantity of items put into the machines.

Another way, which may possibly work in SL by boxing a box to obscure the actual content, is sealed-box collectables. Where there is a shelf of identical boxes, taped shut, with one of a collection in each box. No script needed. Just buy and take boxes with rando content per an image on the outer box. Open outer box, open inner box, get thing. It would limit quantities depending on the size of land in use. But, it could work.

Sparks a memory of a thing I did while in Japan. I saw a carton of SB collectable Yotsuba Koiwai figures. There were 4 different figures in the collections and 8 boxes in the carton. Assuming they would lazily package them with a whole set per carton, I bought the lot. And, I was right! So, I got 2 each of the whole series and they're scattered all easter-egg like around my house. =^-^=

I'm not sure how you can ban pants AND adult activities.

I can think of a few things I remember from my hosting days that should be added to the ban list, if they're still around: tummy talkers and talking diapers.
One Linden house I had, I had a neighbor who had one of those things on blast, and wouldn't turn on "restrict to this parcel" in their land options.

Japanese Gatchapon are way better than the junk in Walmart machines for a quarter though.

Spend 25L$ on this limited edition wooden cube prim from a store, get a random free bonus item with it!

Another loophole I have seen from Japanese makers, where they include candy with items. Technically you are buying the (expensive) candy, but the item is included with it.
